thorough97
McCallie's gym isn't bigger than Bradley Central or McMinn County's. It's around 2000 seats, and that's it. I have been in every gym in Hamilton County that is a TSSAA member, except Arts and Sciences. McCallie has that end that is open down to the wrestling gym that makes it look bigger than it actually is.
TnVols23
Somebody has gotta come down to alcoa if you want to see the biggest, as well as nicest, gym in all of E. Tn. Maybe even the state. What do you think?
WaCoJaCo
The question was who has the biggest gym. The answer is Tennessee High.
pennyplay6254
Totally forgot about Harriman, they have a lot of unused seats though.
xxxsessive
How many does Harriman's gym hold? I've never really heard an official number, but in '94 in the substate against chattanooga pheonix 3 I was told over 2400 tickets were sold. GLee
Viking Hall, home of Tennessee High and the Arby's Classic
FrankL
McCallie easily wins this debate
MaryvilleRebels
Viking Hall is definitely by far the biggest. Also...Alcoa's gym is the biggest piece of junk I have ever been in. They made it look nice and updated, but they went cheap on everything. Not many people can fit in it at all, go to a MHS vs Alcoa game, its packed. The first year Alcoa opened the gym the MHS student section broke the top bleachers. They were angry that they were kicked out of the lower section and put with the middle school kids, so they started jumping on them and broke two support beams. Pretty sad for brand new bleachers. LCborn
Kingsport's gymn is much bigger than Sullivan East's; trust me, I played in both. And I think that both are bigger than Alcoa's.
BeachVol13
All I know is that Viking Hall is insane. Playin DB in the Arbys last yr they said it was the biggest opening night crowd and they had to shut the doors, estimated bout 7,000 ppl, not many gyms can hold more, defintly the biggest and nicest i've been on
PiGeOnS4LiFe
Alcoa's gym is very big and very nice. It was a GREAT location for the district and region tournaments this past year. That's, with the exclusion fo a Sectional game i attended when they did that a few years ago, is the nicest high school gym I've been in. GO FALCONS! CoachSH
The Arby's is played at Bristol. Da Hill plays at Freedom Hall and that is a big Gym. Buck Vanhuss gym is huge at Kingsport. Elizabethton has a great high school gym also.
