I know its a little early to talk about next year, but who do you think is gonna be tops in the league in 2004?

well im gonna agree with inot2bad on this one, riverdale has what like 13 juniors startin or get playin time and look at what they have done, i look for them to be just as powerful next year

I agree, Riverdale should be the team to beat next year. I dought it will be a cake walk though. Football takes some funny turns during the season. A couple injuries, a turnover or two, can change a teams entire season. Just look at this year. Not many people thought Lincoln Co. could be beat. Most thought it would be Lincoln Co. & Dobyns Bennett in the final. They both made their exit in the Quarter Finals.

If I was a bettin' man, I'd go with Riverdale anyway.

Riverdale had two starters and one other major contributor from last years BC bowl team that were supposed to return that didn't. Two transferred to another school and one gave up football for baseball.

 

Riverdale should have 17 starters returning and should be pretty darn good but let's wait until at least spring practice to see who really shows up.

 

A lot can happen between December and August.

I predict that next year I'll be going to watch the Warriors win the 5A Championship, even though I'll always pull for my Falcons.

That funny oblong ball sometimes has a pecular spin on it. As I recall didn't Riverdale get some mad props acouple of years ago before bowing out to Dickson Co in the first round? Thats why they play the game.

Riverdale would be the natural favorite, I would think. I just hope my Rebels can reload instead of rebuild and take the next step!

DB does not lose many seniors. They will keep most skill positions. If Lamon Williams comes back, watch out. Either way, DB will be a notch above the '03 season.

At this point, it definitely looks like DB will be the team to beat in the East.

Well, I predict y'all WON'T be hearing much from LC next year. It'll be like going from "the thrill of victory to the agony of defeat" for the Falcons. Too many good teams this year have too many players returning.

 

I wonder how many Germantown loses. Will they be in contention next year?

They shouldn't have been in contention this year. They lost 20+ seniors last year. So I would have to say yes, they'll be in contention.
