COACHING AT GILES COUNTY

I am going to have to agree with daisyduke on this one. Some people get on here and try and bash on Coach Holt's tactics of coaching but when it all comes down to it the CATS brought the GOLD ball home last year with his coaching. He of all people knows what each of his players is capable of doing. It is his decision to who starts by the type of pace he wants to start the game off with. It seems to me this far that he has done a pretty dang good job since we are WINNING. Also who said that the point guard is supposed to score like 15 or 20 points a game. They are in the game to get the ball down the court and set up the offense. I think that Zach does a good job at getting that done. Also if he has to he will take the ball down and score but he is more about the assists and the team play than scoring himself. So everyone just needs to back off and let Coach Holt do his job so we can bring home that GOLD ball again.

There are some of us who support Coach Holt 100%. Keep it up coach. A great coach once stated, "When you start listening to the fans, you will become one."

A sign of a good coach is let the kids with talent make a play. Sounds like coach Holt is doing a fine job of not overcoaching to me. Talent wins ballgames, coaches win championships. I believe coach Holt has one of these.

I really haven't noticed any. If there is any it must be at practice because there are a lot of talented players, and krogers, you are right, talent alone is winning games right now. And talent and a little luck won a gold ball last year. But look back at Giles County basketball the last several years. The talent has been there to have a lot more success than has been enjoyed. This seems to be a typical game plan: 1. put 5 good players on the floor, 2. grap a towel and start crying to the refs, 3. never correct bad decisions by players such as setting up a teammate for an alley-oop rather than making an easy layup yourself. This is not hating on Giles County, I wish the team all the best of luck, but it's just the way I see the situation.

I think there are alot of coaches that would take that percentage. There are alot of O-fers out there.
