Don Woods will not help kids. He uses them for his own platform. Coaches, do not send any of your players to him. Please find a more qualified AAU coach that will not use the children at the expense of the Kid's school. How many of you AAU coaches really care whether your players' school team is successful.

How can you not mention Jame "Doc" Shelton on your list? He's a coach at an academic magnet high school, where the administrarion is much more concerned with academics than athletics. Doc has brought his team to the state tournament!

No way. 900+ career wins and a JC National Championship is nothing!

Not only is Coach Anderson one of the best (if not the best) in Davidson, he's also likely one of the best in the state. Well, not likely, he is.

Here's my top 5 High School Coaches in Davidson County.

1. Charlie Anderson- Nashville Christian, winning there only magnifies his already bigger than life legacy.

2. Winston Gamble- Hillwood, Got the most out of a group of guys that had no success in the past. Pulled of some stunning wins in the district tourney.

3. Doc Shelton- MLK, Consistently has winning seasons. Two state championships at the school. His only downside, is his antics.

4. Jim Nollner- Whites Creek, Always has very disciplined teams. Has not had the tallent at the school that has been there in the past. Always competitive and ready for the post season (down this year after sectional birth last year).

5. Ken Brooks- CPA, Has done a consistent job since arriving at CPA four years ago. One sectional appearance and now a state tournament appearance this year. Pretty strong for a "Football" school.

    • Starting to pick up for Sam. He has 4 or 5 offers now and more on the way. By mid season the Warriors should have 5 or 6 kids with offers.
    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
