BASEBALL A TEAM SPORT OR NOT

is baseball a team sport or just like every other sport. when you step into the batter box is all of team mates helping you hit the ball. when a ground ball comes your way is the bench players helping you field the ball and make the throw. I hear alot about this is the best team sport of them all but is it ?

What good is a single up the middle if there is no one to bat behind you?

 

And who do you throw to once you field that ground ball?

 

And after you hit that triple and are standing on third, how do you score

if there is no other batter or no catcher for the other team for their

pitcher to throw to?

 

Baseball is the ultimate in team sports. Don't believe it? For all

their talent, how many World Series have the Braves and Yankees

won the last decade or so? Some of the teams that have won,

like last year's Marlins and the Angels recently were TEAMS....

Team Sport......No one can win a ballgame or even play a game by themselves. Team Effort.

It is for sure a team sport. You can't win a game by yourself. Baseball is the best team sport. NO one person can do everything. It takes all nine plus the bench to win a game. You need someone on the bench to warm up the next pitcher in the bullpin. The list goes on and on why this is a team sport. It takes a good TEAM and willing TEAM to win.

There's no better example than Blackman's Price. He pitches 9 innings of no-hit ball. But the team loses. One player can't do it by himself.

Baseball is more of an individual sport because only three people are involved on every play, the pitcher, hitter and catcher. The "Team" the or group is only successful when individual effort excells when given the opportunity individually.

Team sport or not? Ask Roger Clemons, Randy Johnson, or Pedro Martinez is Baseball is a team sport. If you don't have the other 8 people in the field to make plays, then your pitcher has to strike everyone out. Baseball is a team sport with individual and team stats. Individual stats and plays are what makes players standout. What is a pitcher's best friend? A double play!
