BIGR35
winning 7 games in 2003 and making the playoff, will make a great start for the 2004 season. This could be the best east high team in years. return 8 offense starters and 9 defense starters. should have more depth this year, to help us get over that MORRISTOWN WEST problem.( played mo-west good for one half in 2003, just runout of players) Morristown west has 80-95 players every year, East high would have maybe 40 players. This year east could have 70 players out. Only problem, is we need to find a QB and TB. We have some guys that could be good running backs, they just need playing time. The QB problem, is were the trouble is. We have 3 to 4 guys going out for the QB postion. (We really could use a transfer to come in) 3 of these guys could get the job done, but they all play baseball. Over the summer, we need one of these guys to give up summer baseball. Start working on being a QB for East high school. Spring practice start this week, I should have some update on our QB postion. If we find a QB, this could be the year we make a run at a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
redupset
What will it mean to the football program not having Jerry T? Mr. Williams was always a big supporter of East High Athletics. Anytime a college coach takes over a program-you can count orn this statement in the press conference, "support of the administration" or "The administration is committed to winning". When a pro coach leaves it is usually a result of a change in the front office. At West Coach Don Woods always sings the praise of Principal Mike Reed and former AD Scott Walker. What will the change of administration have of East Football and other sports. Will Calvin Decker be the new AD? Will Gary Johnson be the new Principal ??? doubleplay96
I dont see East being real good. Lost Your starting TB and QB both of which signed to play College Ball not to mention you lost your best WR and did you lose most of your Line? I think it will be a long year for the canes. But thats just my opinion.
EASTFAN
OFFENSE LINE HAS 4 RETURNING STARTS. WE HAVE SOME REAL GOOD PLAYERS AT TB, THEY JUST NEED TIME TO PROVE IT. THE QB IS ANOTHER STORY. WANTED GOOD QB FOR EAST HIGH SCHOOL.( # 423-586-2543) DEFENSE HAS 8-9 PLAYERS COMMING BACK. FIND A QB, AND EAST COULD BE EAST TENN SLEEPIER. WestHightrojanfan2007
if east lucks in to the playoffs, no way they will make it past the first round.. too many other strong teams that can beat them... 7 times in a row, this year it will be 8, west will dominate east AGAIN

BIGR35
This is our year to get Mo-West. They lost alot of good players from their state runner-up team. East high will start about the same team as it did in the 2003 season. East High new Coach Larry Smith has already won a state champonship. He know what he is doing. Last year he didn't have a chance to install his offseason workouts, because he was hired over the summer. Mo-West has won the last 7 year because they worked hard in offseason.( West High would have 10-16 player that could bench 300lbs or more) This will be the strongest team East High school has had in the last 10 years. offseason workout has been the best it has every bend. The O-line will avg. about 275lbs per man.( not fat guys, look like a college line) This is the 1st time in many years, we may have better team than morristown West high. We need to prove it this fall, when we play them. All roads to the STATE CHAMPONSHIP go threw MORRISTOWN WEST OR MARYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL. To be the best, you have to beat the best.( must get pass Morristown West before we can deal with Marryville)
doubleplay96
How do u pretty much have the same team as last year? Charvez (however u spell his name) Pallazola and Simpson were your whole team last year and you lost all 3 of them. So you better have a 1,000+ yard rusher the #1 Passing QB in the conference and 1 of the best WR in the conference if you wanna win like you did last year. There is no doubt that replacing Francisco, Palazolla, and Simpson will be a tall task. They led the IMAC in their respective categories, and both Francisco and Palazolla broke several Cane records. Those three combined for almost 375 yards of total offense per game, which will be hard to replace. The good part for Cane fans is that most all the O-line and D-line is back, as well as the rest of the linebacker, and skill positions, and they will be a year older and stronger as well. The receiving corp should be even better than last year even with the loss of Simpson. Pendland, Delapp, and Garretson, starters from last year, are all back stronger and faster than last year and they have picked up a transfer from North Carolina that is reportedly very good. They have good athletes at the RB position, and only need a chance to show what they can do. The biggest ? is who will play QB. At this time the two leaders will both be Sophmores with little experience, but both are capable of being good QB's although it may take a few games to get coach Smith's offense down. As always every team has players to replace, and their are usually some suprises along the way, but the Canes return enough quality players that if the backfield has a player or two come through for them they can be very good.
