Two Sport Athletes

At Oakland , we have several of our players that missed Spring Practice due to playing on the baseball team. Oakland's Baseball teams are legendary and usually are playing deep into May. Three of our QB's, including our starter, were in baseball. We had no QB for our scrimmage.

 

I was wondering how many players your school has that are two sport athletes and what sports that they play?? Please list their names and the sports if possible. Also , do you think it hurts football to have players in baseball that miss spring?

 

 

Can anyone confirm that Dave Thomas, starting QB from Riverdale , is a 3 sport athlete?? I heard he played Football, Baseball, and Basketball?

I think it's sad that more three-sport athletes don't exist. One of the high school football players that I've admired most over the years, BA's Benji Walker, played football, basketball and baseball. He was good at all three. There were several guys at BA like that. Many of them played football, wrestled and ran track. At Franklin, I can't think of any three-sport guys. Ryan Nichols did it his junior year... or maybe he didn't play soccer junior year. Hmm, I can't remember. If he didn't, he ran track... along with football. Many of them do play two sports... too many for me to be able to remember them all.

Juke Dye, Jordan Dixon and Eric Hensley all play Football and Basketball for Clinton. Travis Borum plays Basketball and Baseball for Clinton but ive been hearing he will be transferring to Halls next year.

Marshall County has approx 12 two sport athletes and of those 12, I know of 2 three sport athletes.

At Halls there are a alot of two sport athletes. During the spring we had about 8 players who will either start or get alot of playing time out for baseball. Other football players also do basketball, wrestling, track, and the kickers do soccer. In all I would say on the football team there is about 15 two sport athletes

Like a lot of people are saying already, there are a several 2 sport players at AE. Some of the players are even 3 sport players. I would name some but there's to many to name. Most of the players run track and football. While others run track, play basketball, and play football. Coach Stevens and other football coaches at AE encourage all players to participate in track or soccer at AE.

Cade Thompson,Jeffery Smith,Andrew Clement are three guys I know that play football and baseball.

 

Ryan Jenkins,Ryan Tallent,Antonio Byner,Gary Tucker and Dave Garner play basketball and football.

It's a requirement at MBA that all students play at least 2 sports (which can be replaced with debate, theater, or the student athletic director program)

Greenbrier's Jacob Aldridge is a starter in football, basketball, and baseball while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

 

The best part is... he is a great person with high morals and good character.

 

This type of student/athlete is few and far between.

At Blackman many people play two sports. But one person who excells in both is Kenny Merideth. As a junior in 2003 he rushed for over 1,000 yards for the season (had 317 against Wilson Central) and in wrestling he was the state runner-up. He place 5th or 6th as a sophomore too.

Sequatchie County last year had one 3 sport player.

 

This year they should have two 2 sport players and two 3 sport players on the team. Not counting freshmen that may play other sports!

Every athlete at mcminn is a 3 sport athlete atleast. take jajuan smith for example...he played basketball golf tennis football and he ran cross country...so that right there tells u mcminn can produce some real dandies.
