Riggs to start in 2004?

Riggs has looked good in practice thus far, and claims to have his academic troubles behind him.  That being said, UT hasn't named a starter yet.

they are saying that Larkins is #1 and Riggs isn't very far behind him at all. Good thing for you Vols that the new RB coach figured out that Cedric wasn't really all that good.

well I hope this builds a good practice attitude, they know they can never slack off because a guy is right behind him vying for that position

Does it not bother anyone that when the position coach that works with these guys everyday thinks that Gerald Riggs should start and the head coach picks Ced Houston??...He also picks the two freshman QB's to start,something that has NEVER happened in the SEC..

 

I could understand if coach Fulmer would have said they would play,but start Leak or Clausen...

 

I just hope it works out..If Ainge and Schaeffer are the best then go with it...UT just doesn't have the luxary of "experimenting"with 2 freshman,especially at the QB position with the schedule they have....

When the coaches that all worked with both Peyton Manning & Casey Clausen say that these two freshmen are further along than they were as freshmen then I trust them. Casey Clausen would have started his freshmen year had he not missed the first couple of games because of a sore arm because he threw to much in summer/fall practice!

 

Unless he totally freezes up out there I think everyone will be saying that Scheaffer does remind me of that guy who is QB the Atlanta Falcons!

Forget what I said about those two freshmen...They are both better than Casey Clausen....Now let's see what they can do with the mighty Gators....

What happened to Riggs in the second half? I know they threw it most of the time, but I kept seeing Jabari Davis do nothing over and over. Why wasn't Riggs on the field?

thats exactly what i was wondering ... they kept trying to run davis outside, when he is the slowest back they have .. so i didnt understand that
