Have not heard much from the otherwise wild and crazy Tribe fans. Has DB had any scrimmages the past couple of weeks? How is pre-season going?

i heard that DB self reported themselves to the TSSAA about rules violations, causing them to loose 2 pre season scrimmages as well as 2 practice days????

Well, I guess this means that they are all but done until their game with Sullivan North next Friday. It will be interesting to see how this pans out in their first game.

Want to give you guys something to think about, you have 37 players against almost 100. Who is tougher the small team that is playing iron man ball all night playing their hearts out or the great big team who has plenty of fresh men to throw in.? No disrespect given, just asking you to remember this and give credit where its due, these kids. See yall friday

KINGSPORT -- The TSSAA has given Dobyns-Bennett a two-week no-scrimmage penalty for having practiced with Sullivan Central last week and that will result in the Indians not taking part in a scrimmage before their season opener against Sullivan North on Aug. 20.

 

The Indians were to have scrimmaged Tennessee High last Friday and Knox Halls on Tuesday, but both were cancelled because in the inadvertent violation that would have made D-B ineligible to scrimmage until next Tuesday and with a rule that a team cannot scrimmage the same week it plays a game, that means D-B will go into its opener without going full speed against another school.

This is the reason D-B shouldnt play North, South, or why D-B wont ever play Gate City. We are in a no win position. If we win its because we have so many players, if we lose, we would never here the last of it.I think we should play Tennessee High and Morristown West or Maryville instead of North and South. You wont get any crying out of these schools.

DB could send out their junior varsity cheerleaders and beat north next friday. kill this thread right now before any more north fans build up too much confidence, i wouldn't want them to be TOO disappointed next friday.

I reck'n we just had to scrimmage against ourselfs. That is even worse news for North as they will get alot of frustration taken out on them early in the game. It is good to hit someone with a different color on....

Spear24.... It would be good to get the TN High rival back alive... It was a good one. TN High has more victories over DB than any other school. And still, DB has dominated the series.

You wont hear any North Fans crying dude. yeah we know we got beat last year, they came out played hard on both sides of the ball and were exhausted. We know that your team is a great team and dont deny you that. I personally dont knock your team so dont knock ours or our fans. We have been quiet on this board for most of the preseason, and all we have heard about is the penalty violations and stuff and we have kept mouths shut. Its a respect thing.

No we dont want to bring that up fanfan, kids need a second chance, aint no one perfect out there. If the second chance is screwed up then maybe but benefit of a doubt needs to be given. But I do have a problem with the coach using the sullivan north game as a background on his weekly show since that game. Its over, old news and dont need to be rubbed in. There are two teams in this city and people need to realize this, and bloomingdale is a very large tax base and we also patronize city businesses that support only DB, we need to support both of these teams instead of dragging each other down. Yeah we are known for being rednecked, but ya know what? That aint a bad thing, its called heart and its what keeps these boys playing week in and week out no matter what.
