Possumcop, you should change your name to socratese :D I do think the cougars are destinys darlin' this year. but they do have a tough row to hoe in DB. I think cc qb being out might be the difference in this one. but if Drew Bledsoe hadn't got hurt we might never have heard of Tom Brady. good luck cougars thumb

I'll stick to what I have right now, but many years ago (you would have to be at least 45 or older to remember) the newspapers had a cartoon down home swamp philosopher named Pogo and he was a possum. :D:lol:

do you have a prediction for friday's game possum???

I'll take the easy way out and say the team that wants it the most will win. If CC does their best but are complacent to settle for # 2 then DB will prevail. If DB is uninspired and overconfident that this is just another game and the home team plays with the "Rocky" attitude then ?????????????? anything is possible.

BTW, try to add the "cop" at the end since there is another poster on coacht named "possum". it will help avoid confusion. I got blamed for one of his posts on another topic one time. :D

Sorry, Cougar fans, earlier in the year you might have sneaked up on some teams, but D-B won't be taking you lightly. You have earned the respect of the Conference. This is for a conference championship, the boys know it and they haven't forgotten Karns last year or Jeff County this year - Fear the Spear!

Keys for D-B:

1. Tribe showed last week it can run and pass - keep the Cougars guessing.

2. Solid special team play - especially punt returns.

3. Stop the run - showcase that smothering, swarming defense.

4. Let that #1 ranking be on the other team's mind, not yours. Give 100% on every play - the prize is worth it!

I don't think Campbell County has seen the kind of speed it will witness Friday night and that will be the difference.

D-B - 38

Campbell County - 12

Roll Tribe!

No, we haven't seen the kind of speed that DB has yet this year...but that doesn't mean we won't be ready for it. Some teams may be intimidated by DB, the #1 team in the state, but thats just something we're not...intimidated. We'll be ready to play come Friday, and we know DB will too. And wow, the Red Sox just won the pennant...unbelievable.

    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
    • Hey, I am a big fan of LC even before my friend SC got that job.  Every time I have been down there for a game, their fans have showed up and stayed positive cheering on the boys regardless of the score.  I think they have great support and great potential.  I'm coming down for some home games this year for sure.  I'm pulling for LC.
    • They didn't erect one of Zeller when he took them to the Quarter Finals in 2011 getting beat by a TD by Powell and Dy'Shawn mobley or in 2012 when they went 9-3 and finished 2nd in the conference behind Maryville. (That conference was stacked too with teams like Maryville, Catholic, West, Farragut, and Bearden)
