In Region 6, Lexington host Jackson South Side for the region title. Those two will be 1 and 2 and host a first round game. The winner will be at home as long as they are alive in the playoffs. Crockett County will be #3 with an expected win over Fayette-Ware and will travel for a first-round game for the first time in recent memory. McNairy will be #4 provided they beat Bolivar next Friday night. The Lexington-South Side game should be a battle of Lexington's offense vs. South Side's defense. Should be a good one.

Just a guess:

Region 5-3A #1.) Greenbrier

Region 6-3A #4.) McNairy

Region 6-3A #2.) Lexington

Region 5-3A #3.) Marshall Co.

Region 5-3A #2.) Page

Region 6-3A #3.) Crockett County

Region 6-3A #1.) Jackson South Side

Region 5-3A #4.) Montgomery Central

Greenbrier hosting McNairy would be an interesting matchup. McNairy is the #4 seed but they have lost close games to each of the good teams in their region plus they have beaten a solid Hardin Co. and lost close to 1A powerhouse USJ. Greenbrier has passed their major tests against Page and Marshall Co. and they also beat 2A powerhouse David Lipscomb. The Bobcats only loss was to 4A powerhouse White House.

Lexington hosting Marshall County could be the most exciting game in the entire opening round of the 3A playoffs. Lexingotn has beaten McNairy and Crockett County on the road. Lexington lost to the defending 2A champs Huntingdon Mustangs. Marshall County will get a nice preparation to Lexington this week when they play Sycamore, who like Lexington has a stud at quarterback, a talented running back, and playmakers at reciever. Marshall County is just as talented as ever and showed that in a blowout win at Mont Central this season. The Tigers losses are Page, Greenbrier, 4A Whites Creek, and 2A powerhouse David Lipscomb.

Page hosting Crockett County is very interesting to say the least. Page has lost to the Cavaliers in Alamo each of the last two times they made the playoffs. Page lost a heartbreaker to Greenbrier, but has beaten Marshall County and killed Mont. Central. Crockett County like Marshall is a very athletic football team. The Cavs have beaten McNairy and 2A power Westview. Crockett lost to Jackson South Side and Lexington.

Jackson South Side hosting Mont. Central has the potential to get interesting. The Hawks have gotten hot after a slow start and will be fired up for the playoffs following the loss to Sycamore in last year's opening round. The Hawks have beaten McNairy and Crockett, but lost to Liberty Tech in a game that they had no business losing. Montgomery Central has had a nice season and should enter the playoffs at 6-4. The Indians have beaten Sycamore, CreekWood, and Giles County to secure themselves a playoff berth, which is their first since '99. The Indians have also beaten 2A power Fairview, but lost badly to Greenbrier, Page, and Marshall County. They are a Jekyll & Hyde type of football team.

Great work, catfish! Of course, Lexington could be #1 and JSS #2. Otherwise, you got it on the money! Good analysis.

Bulldog, you don't need me to break it down. It's already done.

tigeracoach,

The #1 seed from Region 6 gets homefield the first 3 rounds. Region 7/8 winner will get home field for 4th round. TSSAA Regulations say that the upper bracket gets home field in odd years and the lower bracket gets home field in even years.

The only thing I don't understand about this method is that no one from Region 2, 3, 6, or 7, can be guaranteed to stay home as long as they win. Only Regions 1, 4, 5, and 8 can get that.

That said, depending on how things played out, they COULD get four home playoff games in those regions, it is just not guaranteed. We are fortunate to be in Region 5 and had the guarantee of all 4 at home last year as long as we won.

Crockett County on the road in the playoffs.

They had better bring the referees from West Tn, because they can't win without them.

When will you ever face the facts- you don't get beat by 40+ points two years in a row becaude of referees. You had your butt handed to you, plain and simple.

That said, as an avid Crockett County fan, I will consider it an upset if the Cavaliers win at Page. This is a young football team that got younger after losing Tyler Mosier for the season in week 8. This is also a talented team, though, and Page will still have to play well to send us home packing.
