OFFENSE--It would have been a 0-0 game until OT if Riverdale didnt have a QB. Riverdale should go buy him a HUMMER for his performance. He broke more tackles than the RB. If they didnt have him to run the option or just scramble they would have been in trouble. FRANKLIN OFFENSE--stunk. Horrible formation. I mean, once the draw doesnt work twice, it isnt going to work for the 3rd time you try it. You didnt spread out the Riverdale defense, you didnt challenge them deep, you played conservative and you got thumped. Offensive cordinator was horrible. Bad play calling.

DEFENSE--Riverdales D-line/Linebackers controlled the LOS. Franklin couldnt do jack. Didnt see the secondary get challenged. Franklin-- did great on the LOS for the most part but let the QB play michael vick and play backyard football on you all night long. Hats off the Riverdales QB, hes one of a kind.

If Riverdale didn't have a quarterback, who would the center snap the ball to?

I can't believe Franklin got beat by all of those athletes that are probably not even eligible.this was a fluke, if they played  again, riverdale wouldnt even score. riverdale stinks

Are you on acid?!?!?! When you get beat 35-7 and the 7 is only there because you scored very late in the game, there is no fluke to it. I gave props to both teams for great seasons earlier, but you've got to be kidding me. You should be on talking probation for the rest of your life. You're a blithering idiot.

That's giving blithering idiots a bad name. fhsreb12 will have to work real hard during the offseason just to get to blithering idiot status.

And Westtn2004state, Riverdale has so many weapons that you have to account for on offense-oh, well, you wouldn't understand what I was talking about anyway, so I won't try and break it down.

Just understand that Dave Thomas did not "save the game most of the time."

Riverdale is in a class of its own. I sat in awe of what they were able to do. They manhandled Franklin in every aspect of the game. They are big, fast and strong. Franklin play calling on offense was down right awful. I was wondering how they got that far with a QB with no arm. I am not disrespecting Franklin but I expected a better showing. Dave Thomas was a human highlight film. Me and my buddy were amzed by his speed, and ability to break tackles. He had an arm on him as well even though that one ball was picked off in the 3rd quarter. I figured Riverdale didnt pass cause there was no need to.

From a Franklin player to anyone on here from Riverdale, and if you would pass this along to any players you know, Riverdale played an excellent game and deserves every bit of praise they get statewide. Definatley deserved to win with the way both teams played.

FHSREB12 you are an embarrassment to anyone that has anything to do with franklin high school. Your comments are incorrect in every way possible and are extremely innappropriate. Get a clue.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
