Potts is going to take the two games this weekend and the off week of christmas to evaluate his team and see what areas they need to improve on before conference play gets underway in January. He hopes to have the main weaknesses pinpointed and then work on the the last week of December and up through the Greeneville tournament.

The younger girls really gave some good minutes last night with Holt knocking down some mid-range jumpers and mattison getting a couple of strong putbacks underneath. Haley Chambers continues to grow in her post position and grabbed five rebounds. She just needs to learn how to go back up with the ball.

Freshman Kelsea Elliot added five points late in the game.

Last night's game was fun to watch.  Girl's needed a little breather after the games with Greeneville and Clinton.  Heard this morning that Greeneville's Dean went down with a torn ACL.  Wonder how that will affect their play.  Takes a little heigth out of the middle.

Ashley will be missed by her fans and teammates but Greeneville has a couple of freshmen who can step up big and have more height. 6-Ft tall Rachel Collins has had some big games recently as has Claire Duncan at 5'9". Burkey has been fortunate so far that his girls have built significant leads that have allowed these youngsters to get significant playing time. I would say most all these girls have someone who can sub for them admirably except Lyons who needs 2 or 3.

For you loyal fans, the JV Girls are participating in a JV tournament in Kingsport Monday through Wednesday (20-22).  So for the 4 JV players on Varsity, that will be 6 trips in 9 days to Kingsport.

Wish they got frequent driver mile points!

JV girls are 4-1 so far.

Looks like the JV has improved quite a bit since last season. I'll be interested to see the outcome of the tournament.

Majority of JV girls played JV schedule last year as freshmen because there was no one else to play JV. The experience was good for them even though they only won a couple of games. They play much better together this year and the addition of some talented freshmen adds to the sophomores experience. Trust me-- they look SOOO much better this year.
