Is Farragut Overrated

Without Dix do they deserve to be top 10? Looks like Knox is having trouble making 171 and there team really looked weak at Catholic!

It doesn't matter how they look at Catholic, as long as they get it done at the end of the year. I think they would rather have a good showing at regionals and state than at the insignificant Catholic Inv. It's hard to comment on a teams ranking this early in the year, and you must factor that their two state finalists did not wrestle at the tournament.

Actually, all you have to go on is the very recent past, i.e. the Catholic tourney. If that tourney is insignificant, then Farragaut should have faired pretty well and given an indication of where they are at this point in the season. When those two guys come back and show how well they are prepared, then Farragaut's rankings should either be justified or enhanced. Until then, it is what it is.

He should be back by the first of the year. He's been in the workout room the last 2 weeks.

Farragut did not have their 2 state finalists and their 145 was hurt in his first match along with their 130 Paul Mountain who also injury defaulted out.  Those 4 kids alone score a lot team points.

As far as overrated the 152 from Bearden did not look very impressive

Farragut has two studs and the rest are question marks at best. Nick Reveiz has loads of potential but a third at Catholic is a long way from the state tournament. I saw Nick at the Best of the Best tournament and he wrestles with a lot of heart. At this point, a solid group of 14 kids would beat them head to head in a dual meet.

 

We've been talking about the 152 from Bearden all year. I think he needs to start taking some of this personally and show that he deserves that lofty ranking.

Solid post! But we got pretty far last year with 3 Studs. thumb

I thought the 215 bracket looked tuff. I know the ND kid placed last year. Remember it is Reviez second year and he's just a JR!

Reviez is just two weeks out of Football and not in wrestling shape yet. The rest of the Farragut team aside from Knox and Dix are young with five Freshman starting at this point and your correct in stating that a solid 14 man line up would beat Farragut.However the line-up now will have few changes after Dec. 25th and those changes should improve their dual match team. If memory serves me correct about this time last year Farragut was the subject of negative comments but finished the year 4th in the state with 3 state finalist. That could very well be the case again this year. I know the Farragut coaches always what to wrestle well but they know that the region and state tournaments are the final judge of the strength of a team. Team and personal ranking are good for talk and nothing else.Currently there are many stronger teams Bradley ,Franklin, Clarksville, and Cleveland just to name some in division 1. Farragut is a hard working team and for the first time in at least ten years have a full line up and several backups. I personally believe that in Feb. they will make a good showing for Region 2 at the state tournament.

OK, that’s a strong post! I concur.

The freshmen will be stronger and have more Mat experience by Jan. Some of our seniors besides Dix and Knox have to step up and get in the "right state of mind".

It's their senior year and there is no tomorrow!

I still feel without Dix and Knox we will face a tuff road at Bradley. I think I know what your saying and I hope we do have some great changes after the 25th, but they do not need to rush those changes.

We should have 6 seniors that we can count on to get the job done! Tell Lee to get a rope and drag his brother to the wrestling room!

He's funny and had a winning record last year!

Find a way to get his crazy butt out there!
