i really don't see how yall think yall have good programs. I mean yall have GREAT programs up there, but most all the boys, say in MS, where they are cornbread raised boys and they are hard nosed. If the South Panola game still happens, it won't be good for the Chatanooga team. But I am not saying yall have bad programs at all, heck, i've played for one one year, and man, it just seems as if some of the guys (at least in east TN) give up to easy

Sorry. The MS arguement doesn't fly. I've lived in MS also while in the Marines, and the programs in MS cannot even compare to the ones in TN. Before anyone else starts to throw another state in here for having more popular football programs, I've also lived in NC, SC, VA, CA, and FL. None of them are even in the same ballpark as TN football. Sure you might have an isolated program here and there that is good, but overall, not a chance.

Stlrcoach, you are a cookeville alumni, so I'm gonna stick with you on this one, BUT I lived in Alabama for thirteen years and down there football is a religion, or like a way of life second to God.  I'd say football in AL is bigger than it is here.

I believe there are areas in AL that top areas in TN, but, in my opinion, the overall statewide enthusiasm is bigger at home. I have a cousin who played ball at Huntsville High School, and their program is very well supported, but in many other parts of the state, the level of commitment could be compared to us being committed to a tiddly-winks tourney! :o

My history teacher told the class just 2 or 3 weeks ago that thing about religion. He asked us what the most popular religion in America was. We all said Christianity. He told us that we were wrong; sports are the biggest religion.

Well, it's nice to know we have some teachers out there that aren't all book smart and no common sense!

    • Hope the catcher on baseball team come back out and play's football . He didn't play last year if I remember but I don't remember much after that wreck anyways.. But he did play his freshman and soph years and I thought was a very good player. He's put on some size now, so I'm hoping he's thinking about playing again..
    • Pirates are young this year.  Gordy can sleep on them.
    • They’ll get it worked out eventually.Farragut is too good of a program to be down for long. As an OR fan, I can’t really say I’m too distraught about it though.
    • I didn’t even see that until you said something, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the coaches can’t get along with each other. But I don’t think they’re openly taking shots at each other right in front of the parents. If they are, that’s pitiful though, that’s really pitiful. I sure hope they’re not, but yeah, I’ve heard the same thing from players over at Farragut getting fed up, and I feel as though what the coaching staff has been trying to keep under the prying eyes of the parents is now out on full display.
    • and there is definitely a reason for that—more than just Catholic recruiting.
