LaRussa Signs New Deal

Tony LaRussa signed a three year extension with the club and said that the team is close to a new contract with Walt Jocketty....He has been with the Cardinals 9 years and have made the playoffs five of those years....Contract will keep him in St.Louis until 2007....This ties him with Red Schoendienst for the second longest tenure as the Cardinal's manager..LaRussa is 60.....

I thought I had read where Mr Jocketty had resigned last week. I hope they did get a new extension. He had been working without a contract since the end of the yr.
