Only thing I have to say is OS is ranked #1 and Webb is #10. I guess Webb is pretty darn good.

If I was playing or coaching I would love to be ranked #1. What an honor it is. Yes you do have a bullseye on you, but as being #1 you take pride in it and defend it as being the best. Also your team gets state wide recognition and for a lot of teams this is huge. I would much rather be #1 in the state than being another non-raked team.

This is just a guess, but I imagine the girls heard about or thought about being ranked No. 1 and didn't neccessarily have their mind on the game. Coach Wright probably benched them to let them know that rankings mean nothing and they'd better bring their A Game every night.

This team has been focused throughout the year, but OS has never been ranked No. 1 and maybe they simply lost their focus.

Also, Webb has a very good team and losing to them at full strength isn't nothing to be ashamed of.

Webb is one of the top four Division II teams in the state, in my opinion. The others would be Harpeth Hall, Briarcrest, and Brentwood Academy.

Could this be an issue for the public/private debate at the basketball level? I haven't seen that issue in basketball, just football.

I hope I did not seem to allude to that tired debate. I was simply trying to point out just how good Webb is, and that a loss to them is nothing to be ashamed of.

Webb is good. That Lake City girl coaching the Lady Spartans does a heckuva job my friends. And yes, I'm a fan of the Lady Cats, so....
