Yes, it should be a good game. Brainerd, as I have said before is the best of District 6AAA. Until someone can beat them that really doesn't change.

Ooltewah had its chances and blew it in overtime the last time. From what I can tell Brainerd wins every night in Chattanooga, and Ooltewah sometimes looks good and sometimes looks bad.

If I am right, this game is at Brainerd and that likely spells doom for the Owls. You can't expect to compete with Brainerd if you're are going to lose to teams like Walker Valley who shouldn't be able to stay on the court with you.

I would say Brainerd by 8.

I gotta agree. Brainerd is just really tough in their gym.  It'll be a miracle for Ooltewah (but possible). Brainerd by 10.

brainerd's home court advantage isn't as big as one might thing, unless its the game against howard there aren't that many fans there for them...2 years ago ooltewah went into brainerd and beat them for the first time in school history so its not a miracle to do it by any means..but yes it will still be tough for them to beat them

Yes they beat them 2 years ago, but I think it'll be a miracle this year (but possible, just an opinion anyways) Ooltewah can do it, but there's no telling how they're gonna play.

This should be a great game. I mean we all remember the last time these two teams met, probably the best game in the Chattanooga Area so far. Down 3 with 10 to go and a shot at the buzzer to tie the game and then one in overtime that got blocked. This game should be another dandy. I aint sure who will win but I know it will be close.

good post, but in ooltewah's defense, walker valley isn't a bad team. all they do is shoot the rock, and when you play a team that likes to shoot and gets hot in one game, it can be troublesome. however, i agree that it is tough to win @ brainerd.

I believe that Ooltewah can beat Brainerd if they stop #4 and #3. If Ooltewah can find two people who want and can put the locks on these two guys they have a chance of winning. If they can find some one to put the locks on these guys they will have to look at Porter and Courtney in the post and that will be their only chance to win.

I don't care who you are, you should be able to stop Walker Valley.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
