Obviously I wish BA could've pulled this one out, but I for one am very proud, it sounds like we stood toe to toe with one of the more elite programs in the country and almost pulled it off. This was a school with 5 times BA's enrollment and a much richer basketball tradition, BA could've been intimidated but it sounds like they brought their A game. Congrats to both teams on what sounds like a great game, now BA can learn from this and work on bringing a third gold ball back to Brentwood.

I spoke with a dad on his way out of the game with a bad cell connection. My understanding was that it went down to the wire with a crucial shot missed followed by fouling. They fought the good fight.

Too bad BA lost, but without many details it sounds like a pretty valiant effort. I'm proud of the guys and glad that they got to play teams of that caliber to prepare for the postseason tournament play. I would not like to be in PJP II's shoes however, playing BA at home immediately upon the Eagles return from Mater Dei.

Mater Dei 67, Brentwood Academy (Tenn.) 64

Taylor King, a 6-7 sophomore forward, scored 25 points, including 16 in the third quarter, to help the seventh-ranked Monarchs (21-3).

 

Senior guard Mike Gerrity provided a big boost for Mater Dei on Saturday. He scored 29 points off layups on repeated drives to the basket. Brentwood's 6-10 Brandan Wright, one of the best juniors in the nation, scored 21 points and had 15 rebounds.
