dragonwrestlingfan
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet! How many guys did Collierville, Ridgeway, and Cordova send to state? 825563452 Dragons send 12! Only holes were 140 and 171. Our 140 (one of your former teammates) was upset in the consolation semi's. 171 lost last night, won first two today and then lost in the consolation semi's. Don't know the exact number but I'm guessing Ridgeway and Cordova are both sending 7 or 8. WrestleSBA
I think I can add in a little as far as the awards go: Region 8 OW for year = Luke Borneman Region 8 Coach of the Year = Jason Thiry (Cordova) Region 8 Tournament Coach of the Year = Phil Cottrell (Collierville) Region 8 Official of the Year = David Marking Region 8 Tourney OW = Josh Boureland (Bolton) - all 3 matches he pinned in the first Best Match = 125 lbs finals Jonas Gibbs (Ridgeway) vs. Jeff Hunt (Collierville) - this was hugely exciting with control changes taking place a few times, not only that but Hunt had to take a double overtime with Dustin Smith (Germantown) just to get here so he was in two awesome matches today and really made it worth it for the crowd. - I do think that Uri Hansen (Ridgeway) and Brett Rogers (Collierville) deserve an honorable mention here as they put on a great show but I think it was going to be awfully hard to beat Uri his senior year at Regionals in his own gymn. He really gutted out a injury that was clearly bothering him to win an excellent match.
WrestleSBA
Nainten, lets see if I can help you a little... Results are based on my best recollection and are not complete. Apologies in advance for any incomplet or incorrect info. 103 1st K. Johnson , Col over Spencer, Hou 3rd (Bernal??), Ger over Stute, Mil 825563586 Yes it was Bernal from Germantown. 1121st D. Johnson, Bri over Brittcliffe, Col17-3 3rd ????? 825563586 I think Nick Tramel of Bartlett was in the third and fourth match but I don't remember his opponent... I am sure BartletDad can help us out... 140 1st Brandon Wright, Hou dec Ben Scott, Rwy 3-2 3rd Ashton Johnson, Brighton, over _______, Germantown 825563586 It was Dan Sharp of Germantown. This was an interesting bracket for sure with notable matches of Ashton Johnson pinning Shawn Speroff (biggest upset of the tourney I saw) and Randall Mitchner of Cordova not qualifying. 1521st T.J. Hannah, Bol dec Ryan Cullen, Col 3-2 3rd Dustin Ring, Cor over Greg Featherstone (sp), Ger 825563586 It was Featherston of Germantown... I announced it wrong once before tha match and had the 'e' on there but corrected during medal presentations. 171 1st Josh Bourland, Bol wbf Dan Harris, Bar 3rd Houston Wrestler over ???? 825563586 The Houston wrestler was Russell Matthews but I really don't remember who he defeated... 275 1st Stewart Allen, Cor over Carl Taylor, Rwy 3-2 3rd ??????????????? 825563586 It was James Lindow of Collierville over David Conley of Bolton. Our 140 (one of your former teammates) was upset in the consolation semi's. 825563545 Speroff's loss in the semi-finals was not an upset. Brandon Wright has pinned him twice earlier this year. He only beat him for the third time this year, a feat I was confident would happen.
