here is my 2 cents:

 

I was sitting in Shelbyvilles gym this past fall and I watched them play Wilson Central at thier Playday. I told a friend of mine that if Rick takes that team anywhere then we all will have to say that he is the coach of the year. I said they would win. No one wants to play them in a elimination game. will they win the region tourney?

Jarrell has really improved in her freshman year and was the difference tonight. She made up for the scoring that wasn't there for Shelbyville when Columbia clobbered them in their first two meetings. Columbia's offensive total was similar to that when they won previously - 39 and 46 points (meaning Shelbyville's defense was playing at a similar level with the past). I'm not sure Columbia played at any lower level than they did before; it's just that Shelbyville's offense has improved as the younger players are getting experience. A great game, and the Lady Lions should be very proud. It's the nature of the sport that you make state when you don't expect to (last year) and you don't make state when you expect to (this year). Shelbyville has had its disappointments too, and we relate to the shock you must be feeling. I'd have just as well seen us knock anyone out of state than the Lady Lions; you guys deserved to be there. Coach Moore will keep the ladies competitive in District 8. Hopefully you'll root on the District 8 mantle Shelbyville is now carrying for you this year.
