and with the two different schools it brings a really good rivalry, although boys basketball would dominate tennessee if it were still one school, like you said, always good to dream

there can be alot of reasons...they used to hand them out like candy but then stopped giving them to everyone when Siegel was built because Oakland would have been left with absolutely nobody there

Why do you say that...I know a lot of people that get upset with Oakland leave and go to Siegel, but most everyone I talk to are glad they stayed.

Im not trying to bash Siegel one bit, but honestly murfreesboro didnt really need a high school where siegel is, I think that since the city had that free land that they thought they should build a school there. If it wasnt built, oakland would be unstopable and extrememly deep.

actually they did....with Blackman almost at max capacity and Oakland around 1900 combined with the growth rate of Murfreesboro Siegel did need to be built....even with Siegel Blackman is still at 2000 kids. The next high school will be in Christiana to relieve overcrowded Riverdale
