Now that Alcoa has shown that they've chosen to play up to 4A the 3A road will change in November. The major one for me is Pearl-Cohn. The enrollment at Pearl-Cohn is currently a 2A number. They chose to play up to 4A because up until the most recent cycle Alcoa had tuned out all of the noise and elected to remain in 3A. If Pearl-Cohn were in 3A their regular season schedule would be more manageable and their playoff pathway wouldn't include Alcoa. In 3A Pearl-Cohn's region would consist of Maplewood, Whites Creek, and Stratford which are 3 other Metro schools. East Nashville is another possibility. Their enrollment last time placed them in 2A as well, but that could change. That's 5 Metro schools that could all wind up in the same region together. That would also probably change the region alignments for schools like Westmoreland and White House-Heritage (although I believe WHH should play up to 4A anyway so that they could compete against neighboring schools Springfield, White House, and Greenbrier).
A Westview "win" over Pearl-Cohn is not "a given" by any means. I believe that would be a great contest if those two teams did play one another.
