You have got to put Malik McGue of Science Hill in this thread.  Probably not a QB at the next level, but as far as high school QBs go he has to be one of the best in the state.  Ask the folks at Brentwood Academy if the kid can play - I think Science Hill put up 600 + total yards which may have been a record against Brentwood.

I think Jennings said he will play quarterback at Tennessee and nothing else. If Butch has planned for him to be corner or defensive back he wont be pleased.

I saw the article in the paper where he said that but you cant find anyone in Knoxville that will confirm his wishes. He's a good player and I know he might be given a chance in spring practice to make his point but Butch is still actively seeking other QBs which speaks volumes...

Yeah it's better to be a 1st or 2nd string corner or db than to be a 4th or 5th string quarterback.

If Tennessee continues to run the same read option offense, then Jennings should be in the mix to play QB at Tennessee. Dobbs and Jennings fit the offense best. If they can accurately throw the ball, I think they both will be competing for the spot.

I think an underestimated aspect of Jennings is his ability to find a way to win. He has demonstrated this in both basketball and football numerous times.

Well, If your talking about a total team player QB Jennings is one of the best but if your looking at the stats he doesnt even rank in the top 25 in passing in 6A. He's actually not even in the the top 3 in his own district. Rumor has it that he will not be playing QB at UT but was recruited as a safety or DB. I guess only time will tell.

He will not have to wait very long to start at QB for the Vols, he is that special of a player!!!!

But there are also others waiting. Justin King out of Dunwoody Ga  also signed. He's 6'3" and 215 lbs and is ranked high on unapproved website....Also Theres a kid out of California that's ranked very highly who leaning to UT. There will be a fight for QB at UT next year or a lot of red shirts..

This is true, ideally unless you have Russell Wilson, or Drew Brees type athleticism, then D1 QB's are usually 6'2 plus and over 190. Typically that's what they look for not saying he couldn't do it though.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
