TennesseeVol
It's official, a few rumors here and there were swirling around that Robertson will not be the head coach for the Panthers in 2016. Robertson will still remain as the schools athletic director. Jeff went 17-16 as the head coach for Riverside and made the playoffs in all 3 seasons. Robertson career record as a head coach was 51-57 in 10 seasons (two stints at Riverside and he was the first ever coach at Liberty). Riverside went 4-7 this season, losing to McKenzie in the first round of the playoffs.

TennesseeVol
he had a tough physical team. my best to him He did. I went to the regular season matchup between McKenzie and Riverside and they weren't to shabby. The Rebels got off to a fast start and then Riverside had opportunities to come back but failed. I don't like the offense, they ran way to many different sets. Defense was pathetic. Riverside is losing a lot of kids for a 2A school. ReitzFan
I am personally very sad to hear this news. Jeff Robertson is a good coach. More importantly, he is an outstanding human being. I am proud to call him my friend. The radio broadcast team for TCA wishes Coach Robertson the very best.
GreenManIsAlive
This stinks. Jeff is a dang good coach.
dooby
I'm sure he is a good coach but at waverly game you could see some of his players refused to listen to him. They did what they wanted. Some parents in stands criticized everything he did. When that starts coaches need to be wary of who is on your side. THETRUEGURU
It was time for a change. I hadn't seen Riverside football team like the last 2 years. Fresh Air

TennesseeVol
Any chance Wade Comer goes back to his Alma Mater? Good question. I was told Riverside went after Wade over the previous years when the Panthers job was open. I doubt it. It will be interesting to see who they hire. tradertwo
Any chance Wade Comer goes back to his Alma Mater? First, coaches do not coach for the money...if time and paycheck were audited, picking up cans along the roadside would be more lucrative. Now to contradict myself... for the stipend offered at Riverside, there would have to be some connection or attraction outside the "job" for a desirable coach to apply. There's always the chance that you hit paydirt with an unproven hire (Scotts Hill found the perfect fit), but I would highly doubt that a coach of Comer's caliber would leave an established program like McKenzie...even to go "home". Inmyownwords
Tommy Browder would be a good get for Riverside. A lot of us at McNairy would love nothing more than for him to come back home because we haven't won here since he was pushed out. After a year at Scotts Hill as OC, I think that he has caught a second wind and will be head coaching again soon somewhere. Robertson was an assistant on his staff at McNairy and I figure it's very possible hes at least on the list.
