Hey guys...I know we're still in the middle of the playoffs, but I wanted to start a thread for each class so we can get a feel for who will be the favorites in 2017. Who returns a lot from a solid team this year and will be a breakout team next year? Who is good this year and will be able to keep it up and not lose many key guys? Who will be the 2017 2A champs?

Let's hear it!

Marion will be in a rebuilding year next year, having to replace most of the line, as well as most of the linebackers. Depending on how that goes, a good number of the skill players return. I think in most years, Trousdale, Marion and Tyner will have a say in who represents the east. Hampton as well. The system is so watered down that it will be easy to pick out whos who.

Hampton graduates quite a few. They,ll still be pretty good but not as good as the last 2 years.

Yea, Hampton has much work to do to replace what they lose...BUT the pieces may just be here to do so...we'll see how much work they put in this offseason...still, you can't "replace" a McClain and dang hard to replace Fletcher and the like

Hard to replace 2 classes like the last 2. Lots of shoe,s to fill.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
