This will be a battle. 2 great football minds against eachother in the playoffs with McConnell & Sharp. This game has become a rival for sure, especially with McConnell facing his former staff Head Coach.

Waverly's offense will be tough to stop but with that being said... Waverly has a tough week of preparation with Lewis Co's 100 different formations.

If Waverly can line up correctly on Defense against the Lewis Co Offense, and can keep the fire burning on the Offensive side of the ball, Waverly will outscore Lewis Co and win big.

This game will be all about momentum.

Waverly has scored 537 points in 10 games this season.  I'd like to think they would have a realistic shot at an all time mark had Franklin-Grace not cancelled on them back in September.  Your best chance to beat them is to do what Huntingdon and Fairview did and put yourself in a shootout type of scenario.  I don't think there are many teams in 2A that could beat Huntingdon or Fairview.  That's why Waverly is my pick to win the Gold Ball in 2A this year.

Waverly still needs to tighten up of defense just a bit more. #1 and his crew for Waverly will have to show up for this one being it's a running based team. After seeing the scores from last night its telling me that R5 hasn't got anything Waverly can't handle but you better believe Lewis is going to bring it. Just hope they are not a team that likes to play a little dirty like Forrest did with the late hits and throwing punches. These slow starts for Waverly have got to stop also. Glad we got to play a little scrappy  team like Forrest to get back in sink. Looking forward to this WEEK!!

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • “facts” or better yet ‘opinions’ had been up for weeks/months. that’s not why the thread was deleted. get over yourself.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
