  1. LOL! Why so salty? There is a long list of exceptionally successful coaches that have reached out for this job. Some are former State Championship coaches and 2 coaches are currently coaching in College. Westview is going to be very dominate the next few years. Look for them to make multiple trips to Chattanooga soon. Thats why everyone wants this job. Only way Graham leaves is if Jason got a new job somewhere else. Probably gonna have to find somewhere else to hate cause the "Wheels are going to roll smooth here at the View"

  2. Didn’t 9 for SP run really well on Clay and Gordonsville? Also a low blow taking a shot at a kid when anyone that was at the game clearly saw he retaliated to the Clay kid. Wasn’t right by either kid but that’s what happened. Also noticed #2, #7, #11 aren’t on this list either for SP and they easily should have been. We could do this all day. How can no SP kid not make Mr. football Finalist. Yes, it’s comical all the way around when it comes to awards.

  3. As the title says. Some takeaways from duals Saturday at Vandergriff duals at Halls. Some things I saw in no particular order. Last year, Grace had barely half a roster. Not that they've been a power house in D2 but still. This year they've got quite a few kids. Jordan is a good coach and will get them coached up and they'll do good locally. The Mavrov kid at 175lbs for Grace is the real deal. Not saying he wins it but he absolutely deserves to be in the conversation. Holds good position, good pressure on top and is lb for lb one of the strongest kids strength wise in the class. Also hear he is just an amazing young man. Page looks like they've taken a small step back this year. They've got some solid guys but not as many. Maryville has taken a step back. They've got some solid kids here and there but the loss of Peyton Cooper, Michael Coligan, Stadle and Hayden shows. AC beat them in the semis pretty soundly 48-28. I'm pretty sure this was pretty close to full varsity line ups too. Speaking of AC, they beat Crockett straight up, varsity line ups. It was close and looked like a good dual from what I saw. I walked over to watch the 165lbs match between Bingham and Ferrell. The Ferrell kid never really got anything going and was down 10-2 when he got reversed and pinned. DB got the win over Halls. I think both teams are feeling each other out still and trying to get full line ups healthy. I know Halls had 2 maybe 3 varsity guys out. DB had a couple missing too. This should be a fun dual at sectionals and one I am really looking forward to with full varsity line ups. The dual might look different at weights 175-215 at sectionals. Also, Mason Jakob is a killer. I knew he was but seeing him in person, you can tell. He's on another level. Sevier County was present, they've got a ways to go. Same for Powell. Hard to tell much about Pigeon Forge. They brought a few varsity but I think they had 7 or 8 starters up at the Fandetti individual tournament. I think if they bring full varsity, they might have beat DB. I think they're that good. Foreman was with them, I bet he was getting a look at AC and Crockett.

  4. Thanks man he is focusing full time on Bullriding. I think he does it because I don’t have a lot of knowledge on that one. I’m hoping he will get back into wrestling? We shall see. But he really likes it. He watches video on riding as much as much as I watch wrestling.

  5. Club was different back then as well. I had several coaches that were former Cleveland guys. Yeah I left when Heath and Eric got there. Heath and I were teammates at UT Chatt together. We just didn’t really get along. But Alan didn’t want to drop money into the club due to Coach Miller. He forced Al into retirement. And as far as myself there was a coach that Alan didnt like so he got rid of him. And he felt I was guilty by association? That, and he wanted me back at the middle school to “straighten” it back out? When I came up to the high school we had 100 kids out for middle school as well as a pretty deep bank account. Fundraising we did on our own. But Jack decided since Alan was after him he was going to deplete the account and spent the entire savings on our banquet. Believe me it was one of the nicest banquets I’ve ever been to. Haha

  6. Yes sir. I did. Don’t wanna bash but they are more involved with Jiu Jitsu then wrestling. It brings in more money. Which I totally understand.

  7. Haha not “ruffled” not even. But obviously you are new to all of this? Look at the history of Cleveland. There were folks like myself there way before Knox and Bosken. But that’s the problem with HCWC as well as the middle/high school parents they don’t do diligent research of the history of their programs. Like I said alum of Cleveland. My name is on that wall. My pics are all over the Jones. Tbh I wish they’d take my name down as well as my pics. Folks like yourself make it embarrassing to be a part of that program. You live vicariously through your kid(s). And that is fine. But when you get off topic and start bashing a club or even another school? C’mon man. I don’t see you going after another club or school in this town? But folks like yourself go after Bradley as well as their coaching staff both past and present? Look, honestly you wouldn’t go talk myself I or any of the above mentioned. You just wanna come on here and do it? You can tell you are new to this sport and more than likely this town.

  8. As a wrestling dad that helps coach part time I can tell you that wrestling parents can be the absolute best but they can also be the absolute worst of the worst to deal with. If the kid fails, it's because you didn't teach them a secret move. Or an easy move that anyone can do. Or , or, or... See post by Justafanof for evidence.

  9. Humboldt has alot more problems in their football program than athletes. Good luck to the new coach at Humboldt.

  11. I don’t think Rutherford mattered in this, he most likely gets pinned at 175 against Baylor, maybe he bumps up but that’s the only way he makes a difference.

  12. What makes you say that? Why would he leave Rhea when he literally gets anything he wants?

  14. That is what I assumed just wanted to clarify. Here is what winning 4 straight championships and being hired away to coach DIV1 college football does mean though... you know the game and can coach. That seems lost by many. Lets take a look at the D2 coaching hires of late Good D2 hires Baylor: Kimrey hired with no D2 experience yet highly successful HS coach in SC and college. Won a state championship year 1 i believe for first time in 40 years. Seems like there are a few kids in the school now BA: 2 hires ago. Cody White was a moderately successful coach in Texas. came to BA and won 4 straight title with no D2 back ground LA: 2 hires ago. Dilfer. Got a few kids in the school and created a national program Boyd Buchanan: Gray Rankin. Never coached in D2. year played for a state championship. Few kids in the school now Other D2 hires BA: Jacob Gill. No D2 experience. He got kids in the school from all over in 5 months. SEC talent everywhere. Yet failed to score more than 20 points in most games and won 2 games. Was it a lack of kids issue or could not coach issue? LA: Mawae. No full time d2 experience or HC coaching experience. One of the deepest rosters in the state so no shortage of talent. Yet could barely get to 500 record in wins. Was it a lack of talent or was it coaching? Ensworth: Roc Batten D2 blueblood. No one would argue he was void of talent at Ensworth yet rarely performed at a high level. Teams underperformed every year. On offense were terribly coached every year he was there. Yet loaded with SEC talent BGA 2 hires ago: Jonas Rodriguez. D2 blue blood lifer. Could not get kids in the school and teams were poorly coached. So in summary the whole you have to know D2 is a bunch of non sense. You have to be a great coach. You know who kids want to play for? Great coaches! The focus in D2 for many seems to be acquiring talented football players. Simply hire a great coach and you will gel the kids. I would argue there is no more talented Div in the country than D2 football yet i would argue it may be to most poorly coached bc of the thought that you must be a D2 guy. BGA made the best hire and its not close. Will the other 2 end up doing well who knows but as of today BGA got the best guy.
