The board of control is made up of principals that want their students in school and preparing for final exams at that point and not traveling across the state for multiple dates many of which would require expensive hotel stays. You guys look only at the baseball side. The "school" side comes into play also. For some reason, that part gets forgotten.

Dates are set by the TSSAA. You can only change them with their permission and both coaches have to agree.

Every district has its own quirks. Some are still holding onto the regular season winner getting an automatic bid leaving the rest of the district playing for one spot. Some play single elimination first round and then double for the last 4 teams. I have seen 7 team districts give 2 teams a bye and have a play in game. Ridiculous

There is no "TSSAA" all state team selected. The TSWA (Tennessee Sports Writers Association) picks an all state team, but very few of the writers have any clue what goes on outside of their little corners of the world. Basically you either have to be on a team that makes the state tournament or have ridiculous numbers, even if those numbers are inflated against weak competition.

There are no openings in Wilson County. Wild is at Central till he moves again. Fryer has been at MJ as a student or coach since 1983. Price is not leaving Watertown while his other son is a sophomore there. Cory still has the stigma and can't leave Lebanon yet. She didn't give up 20 years at Westmoreland and a gravy daily teaching schedule because she wants to coach somewhere else. It is because she has commuted there from Mt. Juliet everyday for 20 years and her oldest will be a freshman next year and is already 6'5". She wants to watch him play.
