  1. First off hats off to an excellant Musting Squad...secondly hats off to the other 3 teams in our pool...Rockwood, Summertown and Frndship were all so strong and scary to face...next way to go Eagles...you had a great run...love you seniors... Finally to the two posters who are talking public vs private...just remember, we played were we were placed...not our choice...you have every right to voice your opinion...but doing it here is very immature...a group of young men worked hard and accomplished their goals...be big enough to say congrats and them start a tread to voice your opinion elsewhere...high jacking this thread only takes away from a great teams accomplishments...and to Rivercity Rage...if you feel we have the best team money can buy show me one player who isn't paying his way cause I am certain you wouldn't make such a claim with no proof......or else be big enough to admit you can't and are just mad about something neither of us can control...
  2. I heard they would come out late this morning, but not sure when
  3. I know we have had some big crowds for JCS vs USJ but I think last night may have been bigger...loved seeing the fans turn out to support the team
  4. Two good teams...excellent pitching by McKenzie staff...JCS came to hit...
  5. actually I never mentioned working harder, but it wouldn't hurt any program...I think if you look at my history you will see I acknowledge differences in rural public schools and privates...I think you will also see I have no problem with a multiplier...I have only stated that to be fair open zone schools, public or private should get the same one...my point had little to do with anything other than to say a totally level playing field is only a dream...all schools...public or private have advantages and disadvantages...some have littel affect on wins or losses...others have a bigger afffect...and to your final point...sure I have my thoughts (like everyone on this board) as to what is fair, but I can tell you my littel private school will play were ever we are put...5A...aid giving...this year we were afffected by the multiplier and had to move to 2A...we didn't once complain...we went to work and we had a great year...much better than most had expected...sorry if I hit a nerve...I really was just commenting on the unrealilty of a playing field ever really being level...
  6. to answer the original question...none...two publics in 1A...Alcoa will win 2A...Fulton 3A...and none in 4 and 5 A...wow...what will the publics cry about all offseason?
  7. a level playing field is:a dream situation that in life never happens...a term used by losing teams to explain why they lost and how they could win...a crutch to change life...where people lose and win at everything...advantages will always exist...in sports, business, life...those that learn to accept and adjust will be winners...those who look for excuses will be losers...it really has nothing to do with public or private...it is a mindset... so can a open zone school...which by the way is a growing tend in this state
  8. Dailey...who knows what his grades are...if they are good then this is just a rumor to take away from his on field accomplishments...if they are bad may be he is playing to get a free education...either way this thread is not about his grades but his game...and that he has plenty of...a great player and deserving of this award
  9. The spread is less of what you run and more about how you line up...once the defense is spread out running can be very effective
  10. and you can't sit there and tell me no publics recruit...people cheat...in all types of schools
  11. This is the title game matchup I picked early in the year...I want to say Rebels win it, but I think South Pitt is very strong...if the Rebels play 100% they can take it, but anything less and the Pirates will get gold
  12. Camden and Hunington are both always in the hunt...I respect what your programs have accomplished...good luck next year
  13. I can tell you when we(JCS) were still in 1A up to last year, we kept a close watch on your region...Jo Byrns, Cascade and in the other region MP were all on our radar...you guys all play great ball and could make it to the boro any year...
  14. I Think the boro will see South Pitt vs McKenzie...I would have to say SOuth Pitt is the dtronger of the two, but if McKenzie is hot or South Pitt makes mistakes the Rebels could take it
  15. Go Rebels...bring us a gold ball back to West Tenn
  16. congrats to Jo Byrns...you guys have been a very serious contender for the last several years...you have a great program and I think you will continue to be a force in Middle Tennessee 1A ball for years to come...good luck next year
  17. JCS will be very strong at the skill positions...the real question, with us in 2A will be can our line fill the holes graduation leaves...we have good kids in the wings, but they are largely untested...
  18. Have heard GP is not as good as prior years...not sure if that is true...the old GP would take this one...but if they are down the least bit, I would go with Peabody...they are hot right now and Harper is the best individual athelete I have ever watched...
  19. McKenzie is a much more balanced team and therefore more dangerous than last year when we played them...Last year when we faced MP they were totally one dimensional...I have heard they have expanded their offense more this year and Dailey has become a threat to throw...if so this should be a close one...if not the Rebels will take it
  20. I would love to see South Fulton return to a contender
