  1. Westview. Should be a good one though. Alot of parity in 2A west tn. football.
  2. Coach Ward is an exceptional coach that has a great coaching staff and that can't be denied. Camden can't make it to the big show but they are a fair 2A team and in that region coupled with the mediocrity of Huntingdon, Trenton, Milan, etc. they should win a bunch of games. In the old playoff format it would be a good year to be a good team in west tn. 2A football.
  3. I'm not convinced Camden is a top 5 team. I still think they're is a sleeper out there and its not in west tn. IMO 2A football is down a little in west tn. compared to years past.
  4. Are the Mustangs injury free?
  5. I say lions in a close one. they looked good last friday against mckenzie.
  6. Yeah, i bet if you guys would have passed alot more you'd have been good. Oh wait, you were good. But I bet seriously you would have been one of the best teams in 3A if only you'd have thrown more, probably even gone to the state championship a couple of times. If only your last coach would have had the vision this guy has. A vision of ball flying through the air, lynn swann like catches, and a qb with a dan morino release. Yeap, I bet your guys get real good real quick now.
  7. Can't wait to get a look at Hickman Co. at our jamboree. I think they are a big time sleeper.
  8. Don't get to carried away now. I'm just ready to see some effort like the 03 team, some emotion, some team play. Lets just get back to the basics and play mustang football and make things right with camden and a few others.
  9. I never thought i'd see the day where the mustangs weren't picked to win the region, especially in a region like this. I say we come back with a vengence in 07 and get things back right again with the lions.
  10. Chris is just getting what Reggie Gordon should have got in 96 when Eric Fontino won it. My how things seem to come full circle.
  11. Here's hoping friendship wins, goodpasture wins, and david lips wins so we will finally get a split.
  12. What is Coach Monroe running on offense? Is he still in any wing t?
  13. Doesn't matter. It will never be an equal playing field. VIVA LA SEPERATION!!!!!
  14. Or...Huntingdon could match up with region 6, which would also set up some very interesting matchups.
  15. If there was any way both of these teams could lose, i'd love it.
  16. Great sportsmanship for a team who basically stockpiles athletes, sits them out a year, then reloads on your tail. Sickening
  17. You've got to be kidding about waverly having a chance against CPA. I like the attitude though.
  18. Excuse me stewardess, but I speak Jive......
  19. Actually it was after the Mckenzie game that happened. Your reply about coach swenson certainly shows that things don't change in Huntingdon and that running down coaches is a family tradition here. I think that says it all.
  20. The 2003 team was a result of great athletes playing within their offensive and defensive schemes. They didn't panic on either side of the ball, they just did what they did. Remember them getting manhandled by Milan week 7? They were strictly in the I up to that point, even had big Hillsman at FB. Then they went back to the wingt mixing it up with the I and whammo......Its all about making adjustments to best suit your athletes, regardless of what time it is in the season. Its never over as long as you have a chance. I expect we'll make those adjustments.
  21. I always thought the wingt at Huntingdon evolved over a period of time. It got tweaked almost yearly and we seemed to always be one step ahead of most every team in west tn. who ran the offense. Coach Swenson stated the exact thing your saying. He thought after 02 the offense had gotten away from its smashmouth roots and installed the "I" formation to try and get it back. If We can get on a roll over the next three games we'll be alright.
  22. But.....Lewis Co. is a much, much improved team from last year and Bobby Sharpe was quoted in the jackon sun as saying they put alot of emphasis on the HC game this year and were lucky to win. Fairview embarred Hc last year and escaped with a one td win this year. Stratford, whom is considered one of the top teams in their region this year, beat them 21-6. I talked to Coach Swenson in Huntingdon last week and he felt that was a game they should have won hands down. Waverly is fighting to host a playoff spot and was blistered by HC 28-0. Now they got their butts handed to them by Maplewood and Hillboro, but who doesn't? From what I understand, and correct me if I'm wrong, HC is starting a ton of soph. and jr's. If thats the case then i'd say yes, the grass will be much greener on the other side and everyone in middle tn. may be in for a return of Hickman Co. football in the classification they were once a power in. What did the final enrollment figures end up anyway and whats the cuttoff?
