Not true. Mr. Johnson has been tearing it up for a long time now. He is very much deserving of this award. Don’t let a couple of fools who get on here to put down teenagers hinder your judgment on the mustang faithful. I, as many other Mustang fans, are proud of our team, coaches, etc but don’t think we are “any better” than any other competitive 1A team. Just wish the stigma of Huntingdon fans wasn’t so negative on here, but I can see at times how easy it is to attach us to that

As for Mr. Ensley, I hate he couldn't even get nominated (not a bash towards any of the well deserving finalists). I don't think any Mustang fan was able to foresee his dominance this yr on the field from the QB position... after replacing one of the all-time HHS greats in Kade Pearson. He probably has a more realistic shot at winning Mr. Baseball this year anyway as he was a finalist last year as a sophomore.

He caught my eye last year, as he was always around the ball on defense; making big plays on special teams; and the most explosive player on offense. He is legit special. Whoever lands him at the next level has a serious weapon on their hands.

Kid's a freaking stud. Saw him this year and last year vs. Huntingdon. He's unbelievable.

I am curious, have Stanfield and Dixon recieved any serious offers yet? I had heard Wake Forrest for Stanfield but nothing for the Dixon kid. If they both aren't on a D1 roster next year then that's a joke.

1A is legit this year. I would take Huntingdon/Cornersville/Lake Co/Greenback/South Pitt/Whitwell over any team in 2A any day. Theres 2 legit teams that won't even make it to the semi's. Wish I was going to be able to see them all.

The bulldogs were way too physical and aggressive for us last year. It didn’t take me too many plays to realize we were in for it. Yes, we have graduated several and look a lot different. Most people I’ve heard from say we look a lot better. Either way you look at it, I know we will be playing basically the same Cornersville team but with so much more experience. Again, baring injuries and/or upsets. One game at a time gentlemen!

It's definitely not all Huntingdon fans. I believe Greenback, Whitwell, South Pitt, Cornersville, Lake Co are all as good if not better. I am fired up for the Cornersville game (if it plays out that way) just because I am excited to see a good game finally, as I know you all are as well. I am not looking for a pat on the back by any means. I apologize that we come off on the boards that way. Its not a good look.

I understand. I enjoy the back and forth banter as well. I even love when cornerback10 hates on Huntingdon, he's hilarious. Just wanted to make it clear, because it comes off on CoachT that all Huntingdon fans are "almighty" and that is far from the truth

I'm pretty sure Cornersville could careless where they have to play. They will line up in the parking lot if need be and will scrap you until the game clock hits 0:00. I hope you Bulldog fans know that not all Huntingdon fans think they are as almighty as a couple of the posters on here think they are. I have nothing but respect for you guys.

I believe the voters like to see familiarity among the teams. Kind of like when Terrance Bell of Huntingdon couldn’t even get a nomination but helped pave the way for Boo Weathers and Chris Donald to get there’s when Huntingdon went on their streak. Also, I believe Bruceton won 3 Mr Footballs in a short amount of time between 04-08. Again familiarity. Not fair at all but just the way it is. Like a poster said above, no one truly knows who is the elite across the state because it’s hard to get an unbiased opinion when you only see 1/3 of the teams play.

Not sure if their stats hold up individually across the state because of having to share, but the combination of Dickson/Halbrook in Trenton is deadly. Im sure those guys wouldn't mind trading in a Mr. Football for a Gold Ball though

Is #37 for Waverly being recruited by anyone? In my opinion, he was the best player on the field in this matchup the past two years (and it’s not even close). He is a legit D1 athlete.
