  1. First comment was one I made a few months ago. Copied and pasted it bc I wasnt sure how to quote from another thread.
  2. Max is gonna hurt some upperclassmen's feelings come February. Not saying I think he beats Belcher this yr, but everyone else could be fair game. I must admit, I got it wrong. Looks like EVERYONE was fair game to the kid. CONGRATULATIONS MAX!!!
  3. Biff, I would have thought the same thing, but Chew beat Cooley 7-2 this past weekend. So, in other words, he did it to himself.
  4. I'm with you Pack. I think it'll take a 113 that's came down for Walker not to win. Also agree that #2 could very well be his own teammate. If ZB ain't 2, he's not too far down the list.
  5. I knew EMD picked up Critchfield but did not know that May had relocated as well. Also didnt know their Hwt was that good either. That means they win 152 and possibly 285 too! They will have a few-handful of champs and several others that place very high. Gonna be even harder to beat them!
  6. EMD wins 170 and 195, and quite possible they take 220 as well. They will also have kids that probably place top 3/4 @ 106, 113 and 120. Their lower weights are very good and they have a few HAMMERS in their upper weights. I'm not saying EMD wins this tournament but they will finish near the top. However, I will take Baumann (170) and Sollars (195) vs the field!
  7. Imo, Hunter and Ashton are 1 and 2. Not sure abt the rest. No disrespect WHATSOEVER to Kodiak, but someone could make a valid argument that he may not even be top 3 p4p in his own room. Granted there are 4 STUDS in that room, but someone has to be 4th.

  9. I know these are meaningless rankings but Lucas being unranked in large schools after beating Parton is not that big of a deal. See: Dupill, Carson 8th at Ironman last weekend 3rd in TN small schools this week
  10. Not gonna say they're the best team in TN HS history but I will say that they should and will be in the discussion 20-30 yrs down the road. The schedule alone that this team played and went 15-0 against is VERY impressive. That in and of itself should be respected, no matter where you think this team ranks in TN HS football history!
  11. Ballgame. 27-0 Jackets end game in the victory formation. Jackets D holds Memphis Central to 104 yards on offense!!!!
  12. 27-0 Jackets, blocked PAT. MC fumbles the ensuing kickoff and Jackets recover. Backups in for the Jackets with 3:00 left in the game
  13. So far, Jackets D has been swarming! MC's #10 held to 53 yards on 20 carries with abt half or more of those yards on 2 carries.
  14. 21-0 Jackets leading and have 1st and 10 at their own 16 after holding MC on a 4th down. 10:07 left in the 4th when game resumes after the power outage.
  15. Gerald wasnt a part of the state championship team in 2000. He was offensive MVP as a Sr in 99 title game 14-13 loss to Milan. He had went to a juco in KS and was going to Univ of Nebraska in the fall on scholarship when he was headed home on spring break, went to sleep and hit a semi head on. Chase Brroks and Luke Dunbar were stud LB'ers (both won Mr Football). No players on 2000 P-town team played major college ball. Info courtesy of my friend who played there from 98-01.
  16. Rip, you should have went with your gut and not 2nd guessed yourself. You "would have" nailed it!
  17. Imo, there is a simple answer. IF Oakland runs the table and beats Murvul at home in the semis AND beats Summit in the championship game, there is no doubt in my mind that people will still bring this team up 30-40 yrs down the road while having this same discussion. They most likely would have beaten 2 of the best D-II programs in the state, a very good Riverdale team 2x, and two outstanding teams in the semis and championship games. A couple of these teams will be returning champs, a possible third current champ in LA (based on last Fridays rout over CPA) and all of these teams have multiple D-1 caliber athletes on their teams that play multiple sports which will only add to Oaklands legacy. IF they stumble just once, they will forever be in the discussion of best teams to NOT win a TN state championship.
  18. BigRed, put the laces back in your shoes and step down off of the chair. Yall have been beat by one of the best teams in the state regardless of classification, two other really good 6A teams and a pretty good 5A team in a game that could have went either way. I hope and fully expect yall to make the trip to our place in abt 6 weeks or so. Great game HC! GO JACKETS!!!
  19. What a game! Jackets 6- Patriots 3
  20. Set it up Bump. Please and Thank You.
  21. Pretty sure Tisdale has always been an East Ridge kid until the last year or two.
  22. 106- Wilson over Ellison 113- Borders over Calvin 120- Bates/Belcher and Bradford/Artiles should both be semis matches. Going with Bates over Bradford. 126-McDaniel over Shires 132- Moore over Seeley 138- Isbell over Mann 145- Williams over Hurst 152- Laxton over Smith 160- Harter over Morrisette 170- Pietriella over Meeks 182- Sacharczyk over Richards, (I'm DEF pulling for Cooper but my brain says Sac). 195- Feldhacker over Brumlow 220- Davis over Boyce (should've been a semis match) 285- Coffey over Dawson or anyone else (whenever he wants it to end)
  23. I know this topic is very debatable and everyone will have an opinion as to why this wrestler should be ranked higher than that wrestler. I have listed some of these wrestlers accomplishments. Please feel free to list your own top 10 pound 4 pound wrestlers in TN, while being respectful of the kids. 1) Alex Whitworth; 3rd at Cheesehead, 6th at Beast of the East 2) Trae McDaniel; 3rd Virginia Beach, 8th Beast of the East, 2X Double Fargo AA 3) James Howard; 1st Cheesehead, 4th Beast of the East, 1st Virginia Beach, Double Fargo AA 4) Skylar Coffey; 4th Super 32, 5th Virginia Beach 5) Garrison Dendy; 3rd Nat'l Preps, 3rd Grappler Classic, 1st KC Stampede, 1st Prep Slam, Fargo AA 6) David Harper; 2X 2nd place at Grappler Classic, 2nd at KC Stampede, Prep Slam Champ, 7th Nat'l Preps 7) Noah Horst; 3rd Prep Slam, 4th KC Stampede, 7th Grappler Classic, 13X TNAAU and TSSAA state champ ( couldn't help myself and had to list his state accomplishments) 8) Christian Isbell; lack of Nat'l experience hurts his resume, 3X Father Ryan Champ, lost 4-2 in OT to Dendy last season so he cant be too far behind him. 9) Garrett Bowers; 1st KC Stampede, 3rd Prep Slam 10) Al Wooten; Prep Slam Champ, 3rd KC Stampede Just missed AND will be there soon: Parker Peterson; simple- win it this weekend. Will make the list very soon regardless of finals outcome. Hunter Mason- one of the few A/AA wrestlers who can compete nationally. I believe he went 5-2 @ Beast of the East and got beat in the blood rounds. He WILL make the list VERY SOON, most likely starting Saturday night when these seniors wrestle their last HS matches.
  24. Newestguy, if I post my picks for AAA, are you willing to make a friendly wager to see who picks the most champs correctly? Maybe a bbq sammich and a cold drink?
