Great first round of action the battle of east tn in both A and AA was decided by one point. Maryville and Gibbs both had a match that should have been pins and only got a tech, now they are both in the losers bracket. Summit almost pulled off the upset, and Nolensville looked really impressive by hanging in with Cleveland!

Cooper is a different animal now than he was last year, but I think if Rhoton could withstand the opening flurry and take him deep into the match he does have a chance of winning the match. To add to the point you are making Maryvilles 182 has never been a guy that gets pins. I do think Maryville has the advantage on paper but I only see them winning the dual by 10 points or less.

It is back at the cow palace this year. Apparently a 3 day tournament with only 3 divisions being wrestled at it, and all 3 will be 16 man brackets. The big question is how and why is it three days?!

I don't think you understand the magnitude of "fighting words" you used by associating him with Maryville.

Another question to ask is how many of them will be "redshirting" this year and taking a 4th year in middle school.

It was two separate personal fouls on the lenoir city kid, one for tackling the quarterback, and one for throwing punches. The kid who came running off the sideline was the quarterbacks older brother. At least he was willing to fight for his team and his brother while his coaches were calling run plays up the middle with 3 minutes left and down by a touchdown. I don't know how much longer we have to put kids through this before something is done, all because of a state title won at Maryville years ago.

Heritages wrestling facility was paid for by donors of the program with the exception of $3000 if I remember correctly which was given to them by the school board. Unfortunately the way it works in the county is if you want something for the kids you have to go get it yourself. Heritage middle school had a talented football program this year that won quite a few games, but when you talk to those kids parents a lot of them will tell you their kid will not be playing in high school and focusing on other sports because they do not want to play for Hammontree.

If WB wouldn't have taken the whole 2nd quarter off this game would have been a lot worse than it is.

If William Blount comes out ready to play they could beat Heritage by as much as they wanted to. With that being said I haven't seen William Blount come out ready to play much this year. Watching Heritage against Cocke County was the first time in a long long time I had seen Heritage look like the team with the better athletes, and they still couldn't find a way to win. WB has better athletes, and from what I've seen of the Heritage secondary those wide receivers will be wide open waiting for Clemmers throw.

There is a lot more participation in the lower weight classes across the state

Jackson Bradford 126 123.8 128.4 132 M Sr. 25-2 This is straight from track wrestling when he hydrated he weighed 128.4, and the lowest he was allowed to weigh was 123.8 which obviously made him not eligible for 120.

Tennessee was well represented this past weekend at the AAU national duals tournament. The middle school and 9/10th grade team brought home 2nd place overall and the 11/12th grade team brought home 5th place.
