The administration and just as much the community of FC is the reason for this. The administration, beginning at the school board level, are for themselves and could care less.

I don’t have a dog in ya’lls 2A playoff but I do have one prediction. Lewis County goes undefeated or loses one game to a good team then rolls into the playoffs. They will proceed to beat some weak team from another region that probably should not be in the playoffs. Then, when they finally do face some average to good team in the second round, they will get beat.

Must be very proud of all those regular season paper championships! Everybody knows that if they play Lewis County in the second round it is almost a guaranteed win. Every*single*season!

I think it is either down here in Middle Tennessee or more teams are up. To me, it seems more teams are down. Quality any way.

Ha! The good ole regular season paper champions of Lewis County. See, when you have friends in the t$$aa that always make sure you are in a region, you will be first or second. Hence, you always play the worst team(s) in the first/second round. That is why they are the regular season paper champions!

Ah, the good ole’ regular season paper champions from Lewis County running it up against much lessor competition. With Covid impacting, they may make it to out of the first round of the playoffs this year and even i to the third round.

Lawrence County?

Good ole regular season paper champions of Lewis County in the top 10 once again. Wonder how they will fare by the end of the second round playoffs?

After successfully defending that Brentwood Academy lawsuit decades ago, the T$$AA feels their power so behold everyone. Flip-side, he should have been more transparent and told Memphis to go kick rocks into the river over there. The T$$AA has too much power due to the backing of so many schools. Let Memphis sue them. That way we will have every * single * school making the football playoff in order to pay the legal fees. But, those schools and that system over there will be broke.

Shelbyville is my top pick. I think Franklin County rounds out the bottom. Summitt is not exactly a wild card but will be extremely competitive. We will be also. Our key is the backfield and Oline.

Whichever direction they choose they need to hurry up. It is already August!

I know for sure that by ‘86 it was the top four teams for each region. Our neibor to the south (Spring Hill) won the Clinic Bowl at Vanderbilt that year. I can look up who it was but they beat a 6-4 team in their first round. So, I know by then (‘86) it was the top four. I was just curious as to why those two Loretto teams didn’t make the playoffs. Thought maybe there might be a Loretto football historian. Butch Toner really built them up. They were like us before he got there. Losing to single A schools.

IIRC the T$$AA changed the playoff format in ‘86 from the former two team to the four team format. There were many teams with 6-4 and even 4-6 records making the playoffs back then. I can also remember the playoff change pretty much wiping out the bowl games. So, in a four team playoff format, it is strange that a two loss team does not make it. The merged prep database does not display the region/district. That is funny. Perennial paper champions.

Looking back at their historical record, why did they not make the playoffs either year? The ‘90 record was 9-2 and 8-2 in the regular season. The ‘92 record was 7-3. Those records should have been sufficient for making the playoffs.

Ah, I see the perennial paper champions from Lewis County made the top 10, which I had no doubt. All that empty pride of not playing any one of any significance till the second round of the playoffs each year sure must feel good. Pad ‘dem stats!

What is the latest/reasons for the merger? I actually liked the original site from a decade ago. He had literal scores from games played 30 years ago and could click on each team during a given season.

I have a feeling out run for the last decade is about to run out.
