  1. My "day job" is far more complicated and demanding than yours is T&C. Coaching high school football is not rocket science. It's also not even close to as demanding in time at work on a year to year basis either. You, son, would not last a week at some jobs I've done for years. You're too low energy, no ambitious enough, not willing to work hard enough. So you can take that smart mouth of yours son and stick it.
  2. If my guess is right, you Should quit you day job. You underperform with the talent at your disposal every year.
  3. This was the shocker of the night for west Tennessee.
  4. The only thing I would bet on is that it will be a much closer game than last year. I would bet on that.
  5. It doesn't pay enough. Not even close.
  6. All Hardin County had to do was line up in the I and run the ball behind a blocking fullback all night. 35-21 H.C win would have been the result. But, they want to look all fancy and it always comes back to bite them.
  7. You use the technique of saying you are not making excuses and then you go on and you made excuses. You have no idea what players Halls had in weeks 1-4 that may have been out for this game. You just belly ache and whine and cry about W.C. supposedly having 4 players out which, even if all 4 could have been in the game that does not necessarily mean that W.C. would have won. Halls botched the opening kickoff, turning the ball over, so did not get the ball to start the first or the second have and still won by a comfortable margin. Grow up and put your big boy panties on Cartman.
  8. They didn't look too "up" at all against Tullahoma last year. So, they don't get up every time.
  9. Gibson County was castrated last night. Gibson County could beat Gleason. This is one of those rare incidents (since Tennessee went to a classification by enrollment system) that the TSSAA should step in and not allow this game to be played. A forced forfeit would be best for all involved.
  10. When I read the way you write I get this cold chill down my spine because I can't help but believe you are a male hairdresser.
  11. UC had 6 long runs of 30-65 yards called back on holding penalties. Personally, I never saw the hold. I do not know if the call was accurate and, if so, did it allow the long gain. I will watch the game film to see that. All those holding calls is what kept the game close in the 1st half and kept the second half from being even more lopsided than it was. It should be noted that the head ref had to waive off two penalties called because he knew if was ridiculously wrong. Bottom line, my opinion is, it was a 75-12 game without the holding calls.
  12. All I want to know is will Trenton figure out a way to dodge Dyersburg again this year or put on their big boy pants and play them.
  13. Ok then, you chicken, go find a school with 420 students. I know, call up CPA. Maybe I will make a list of schools in the 420 range to send to you.
  14. My guess is that Marion County has a much larger enrollment than S.P. I suggest that M.C. call up Murfreesboro Riverdale to start a rivalry with them.
  15. I do not see a correlation between private schools and power 5 conference football scholarships. I have always been mystified at the fact that private schools had to be put away in a division by themselves to keep them from winning all the football state championships and yet, power 5 colleges rarely take any of their players. I do not condone "dragging" a kid anywhere. You show him a school, you ask him if he would like to switch to that school and then, if he is gung ho on the move, and you can financially afford the move and your wife wants to make the move and any other children you have in your household wants to make the move then...you make the move. "Superstar" does not have to be in here. You used extreme language like "drag" and "superstar" for effect. "Much better than average" would be the better term.
  16. I mention he/she because if the kid in question is your daughter playing basketball, softball or soccer, it is every bit as important.
  17. And this coming from someone posting on CoachT on July 6th. It depends on how talented you kid is. If he/she is average and has not a tremendous interest in football then, no. If, however, your kid is talented and he/she is running into politics, then you do what is best for your kids, EVERY SINGLE TIME, not what is best for you yourself. So I don't know which is the case with you.
  18. No! Say it isn't so. The UTM Head Football coach would be interfering and trying to exert influence at his son's high school? That high school coach should tell Simpson to keep himself off the practice field and to not get in his way or his boy will ride the bench.
  19. I've been hiring for decades. The person doing the hiring knowing what he/she is doing can go a long way toward avoiding these things from happening.
  20. There is a world of difference between the caliber of coaches a coach coaches against in 5A and 6A and that of 1A and 2A. Sometimes they can make the transition and sometimes they cannot.
  21. First time as top dog. Every top dog has had his first time at some point or another. It's a crap shoot. Sometimes its a hit and sometimes its a miss.
