  1. ^^^^ This! 100% agree. I hate to see a game that I love dying off and unfortunately it is in some communities. We live in a time where we need football and our current system is not doing anything to save the sport. Stepping off soap box now.
  2. Any news on the WSHS job? I can't see a job posting.
  3. GCHS is such a fundamentally sound team.
  4. Stop focusing on Coyotes and focus on Roadrunners from Memphis.
  5. I am sure he is a great guy and he had a great career playing for some outstanding coaches. I still say coaching HS football is a different animal. There is a reason why they went after Ingle first.
  6. When GC plays to their potential they can beat anybody. Consistency has been an issue for them.
  7. The name alone will bring LA a lot of press and publicity and most private schools love that. A lot of clueless parents will think that it is so cool to send their kid to play for a super bowl winning QB. Some of those kids will be good football players and help LA. If he is smart he will hire good coordinators that understand the HS game. I am sure he has the skills to coach QBs but hopefully will be smart enough know what he is good at and what his role in the program will be. Personally I think this is a mistake for LA and they would have been better off finding a quality HS guy who understands HS football but maybe this will work out. LA certainly had to do something if they wanted to become relevant again.
  8. Where are the district tournament supposed to held this year?
  9. I did not see that. So I guess this hire is important enough to change their school's policy.
  10. GCHS appears to playing really well.
  11. From the Lipscomb Acad. Website Thank you for your interest in teaching at Lipscomb Academy. Minimum qualifications for candidates are a bachelor's degree, teaching certification in their subject area (or areas), and active membership in the Church of Christ.
  12. Looking forward to seeing of Wayne county is looking right now.
  13. No open positions right now at Gallatin so it might mean that the principal has to stay in house. Also not being able to bring some assistant coaches could be a deterrent. How likely is the principal to create a position for a coach.
  14. I think Dresden will be fine. Just going through some Early season issues.
  15. Dyersburg will be a very difficult team to beat come playoff time.
  16. IMHO: DA loses by 3 TD to CPA. CPA loses by 3 TD to BA Too much disparity in Division 2 football
  17. Dyer County can definitely ately make some noise post season
  18. Actually winner gets Maryville/Farragut winner in the semis. Whitehaven/Germantown are on the other side if the bracket.
  19. How many classifications are "fair" then? 3? 5? 9?
  20. 2 classifications Single A up to 1000 students Double A over 1000 students All private schools thrown back in with publics regardless of financial aid with no multiplier. Teams could choose to play up if they wanted to. 16 districts across the state for each classification with the top two teams advancing to the play offs.
  21. Dresden is a top program. They will be back.
  22. How much money do you think CA has? Do you really think CA has this huge slush fund to bank roll unlimited scholarahips? Might they actively seek a few athletes? Yes. But “all the players in that area”. Give me a break. CA still has to pay the bills and tuition in the number one way they do that. Plus does this mean that CA is willing to let kids in on athletic prowess only now? All that being said best of luck to CA. I think this change is beat for everyone.
