Where's all the cookeville folks? With the success they have had the last few seasons you would think they would have a decent following. Always love going to Cookeville when Oakland plays there, no matter what the sport, got some great eats in c-ville thumb

But since were on the subject on the 99 state champ team, it would suprise me one bit to see the 07 Oakland team have some similar success, that team will be LOADED LOADED LOADED

I don't believe they will be Loaded any more than anyone else. Too many schools in Rutherford County and way too many kids transfering around from one school to another anytime something they don't like happpens. Something needs to be done about all the Athletic transfers. Kids should go to school where they are zoned.

The JV team has basically blown everyone out of the water. The talent maybe spread out, but you can still win state championships in the boro( ask riverdale)

Their Jv team is blowing people out of the water becasue many of those jv players START for the varsity. At most schools, if you are good enough to start varsity they don't allow you to play jv. Many schools have kids that are starting for varsity as 10th graders but don't compete in jv games. I would hope most varsity teams could be a jv team.

And most of our starters dont play jv. Only a few who are regulars play with JV. But with blowing teams out of the water with just freshmen and sophmores that tells me, that this team is destined for big things for the next couple of seasons

Polk, fann, parsley, dodd, stender are just the ones off the top of my head. My point is other schools have just as good soph and fresh, but some schools don't play varsity kids at the jv level. You are comparing apples to oranges.

Even with those guys playing jv, 90% of this oakland team will be together for the next 2 seasons. Mark my words, this team will do great things and bring another state championship to the boro

Now back to the game. I know McCleary will be throwing for Oakland tonight but does anybody know who will be throwing for cookeville?

The Cavs handled the Pats handily tonight 12-2 in 5 innings. They had 8 straight hits off McCleary and got 8 runs off him in the 2nd inning.

Tha Cavs had 16 hits in five innings.

Griggs got his first win of the season for the Cavs!

I guess Oakland won't sweep this series!!!!

Go CAVS!!!!!!

Kudos to Cookeville. They put on a clinic tonight and hit the ball everywhere that our guys werent, i dont think it would have mattered who Oakland put in tonight. Just one of those things where you congratulate your opponent and focus on the next game. Once again, Congrats to Cookeville

Heck of a game by Cookeville. Griggs threw well after struggling early in the season. He "cleared the mechanism" and just threw the ball. Wow, what about those cavalier bats? they were smoking tonight. 4 or 5 people had multiple hits, and they were spraying it everywhere, just singles and doubles. I look forward to tomorrow nights game. i look forward to seein gPhifer throw for Cookeville. He has been on a roll this season, so maybe he can keep it up! GO CAVS!!!!!!!!
