Jason Phillips was a starting quarterback for Maryville in 1999. His dad Tim was a starting safety on the 77 Maryville team. Both Tim and Jason played on state title teams their junior year. Jason's uncle Mike was quarterback on Maryville's state title team in 1976. Jason's uncle Brian played on the 76 and 78 state title team and was on the 77 state runner up team. Brian hogged the championships. Jason's other uncle Ronnie played on the 79 runner up team. Ron is the only Phillips to not play on a championship team.He was a loser. <_<

Other families to do great at Maryville are these families.

Talleys. Mark,David and John. They were all very good players at Maryville. I think David and Mark have sons on the way.

Maples. Rick was a 3 yr starter and his nephews are Ryan and Tyler.Ryan was a 3 yr starter 97-99 and Tyler will start this year.

Brock. Keith,Ty and TJ. Keith was on 64 team that was voted state champs. His sons TJ and Ty were stalwarts on 2000 and 2001 teams that won titles.

I know there is many more but can't think of them right now.

Bobby passed away about three years ago.

Ed lives in Knoxville, he's in fairly bad health. He was honored at a D-B game last year, he's in a wheel chair and has one leg amputed because of diabetes.

Actually, Steve was his dad. Keith played high school ball in Kansas. Steve played several years for the Chiefs and I guess made the KC area his home. Check out:
