Oldest and Longest Running Rivalries

What are some long running rivalries out there?

 

In this area, there's the TN High/VA High rivalry that started back in 1911.

 

DB/Science Hill

 

DB/Oak Ridge

 

The TN High and Sullivan East rivalry may not be one of the longer ones ( little over 30 years) but it's probably one of the biggest one sided rivalries.

Jellico vs. Williamsburg(KY) is always a big rivalry because there really close to each other minutes apart. It is also a border war. Always fun to play Williamsburg.

Smith County/Gordonsville started in 1930.

Lenoir City vs Loudon started in the early 20's I believe. "Battle of the Bridge"

McMinn Co. and Bradley Central started playing somewhere around 1905. McMinn Co. high school is the oldest school in E. TN it was opened in 1903.

It's to bad it will not get to continue. They will play for the next two years and that's it. Lenoir City decided not to play Loudon anymore in any sport after this year. They have to play in football because the schedule was already made when this was decided. This is not only a huge rivalry being cut, but a financially ignorant mistake on LC's part.

Maryville/Alcoa I think is at their 79th year this year.
