Riverdale greatest TN Football Program Ever?

Yall heard the question, now let me hear some answers. Please vote and then reply.

Well, since the mid 90's they have been very good but teams like Brentwood Academy, Oak Ridge and Maryville might have something to say about that. All of these teams have more state championships and have done it over a long period of years. Dobyns-Bennett has over 600 wins as a program. lets do this poll again in 20 years and we shall see.

Riverdale has been to 5 straight SHIP games and everyone knows this year will be 6.

It's hard to say that they are the greatest EVER. Definately the best in the last decade, but throughout the whole history of TN football I'd say Brentwood Admy.

5 years from now when Riverdale puts up 2-5 more titles then it will not be debatable but i respect the debate right now.

Riverdale is undoubtedly the team of the decade, but calling them Tennessee's best program ever demonstrates a limited historical perspective.

 

In no particular order, I would lean towards Tennessee's winningest program -- Dobyns Bennett; the team with the most state titles -- Brentwood Academy; and the team with the greatest combination of longevity and dominance -- MBA.

 

Maryville and Oak Ridge might also be able to stake claims to the top five.

 

If Riverdale continues their dominance for fifteen more years, I'll be ready to give them the title of best ever. For now, they're still an up-and-coming dynasty when compared to schools with deeper traditions of dominance.

i would like for someone to look up these 5 or 6 schools all time winning percentage and then a winning percentage of the past 10-15 years. im just curious as to what that might show us

I think Riverdale has to show that they can remain a power once Rankin leaves. I think thats the mark of a great program, having sustained dominance after the coach who started it leaves. Schools such as DB,OR, and MBA have done as much
