In my opinion Alcoa will step it up before the state game, they won't all be easy. We will face a loudon team out for revenge most likly, and possibly David Lipscomb. They will be ready to go when the time comes, maybe the lack of super hard games will save them injuries and being wore down. If they play their hardest against the easy teams, they will be warm and ready, and i think they know what their mission is and how to succeed. Either way it will be interesting.

Alcoa will start out with someone like Gatlinburg Pittman,South Greene,Chuckey Doak or Cumberland Gap. Then they will probably beat region teams they beat this year. I would bet they see Loudon again. I believe in the semifinals you will see Alcoa hosting Tyner or Goodpasture.

Did Goodpasture switch regions?

 

I know the last several years when Alcoa was in the semifinals they played Goodpasture in 2000 and 2001. Alcoa played Lipscomb in 2003 and 2004 in the semifinals. Alcoa also played Lipscomb in the 98 semifinals.

I too thought Goodpasture was in our region. When did that change, and also, is Tyner as good as in the past, i thought they struggled some this year. I still think the playoffs will be enough to keep them on their toes untill the State game.

Yes, they are now in region 5.

Alcoa is beatable. I cannot speak to the talent level of the other teams they'll square off against, but I've seen all of Alcoa's games this year and realize that they have some pretty big chinks in their armor. A team that is able to spread the field, put the ball in the air and put up points to match Alcoa's for 4 quarters has a great chance.

 

Having said all that, I really suspect Alcoa will waltz through the state game. They are very good.

Milan is good enough to make it there and so are Huntingdon and maybe a couple of more from the West. However, Milan is young and might be a year away from being good enough to win it all.
