Sorry I hurt your feelings.

Pick out a part of my post that was inaccurate and we'll talk about it.

The jist of my post was to point out that most of the people making the predictions had seen neither team play...and to show that West Tennessee football was not as prolific at the championship level as certain pundits on this fine thread would like to believe.

There's no hurt feelings here. And I never said anything was inaccurate. And, pray tell, who was the last team in 6-2A to win a state title?

What I am getting at here is, THIS IS A DISCUSSION WITHIN THE REGION. We're not talking State Titles here, we're talking about the 6-2A region title.

What's wrong with predicting your team to win?

Keep feeding the fire, we love reading about how we are a "lackluster" team. We also love the prediction about how you will never have to punt against the #1 rated DEFENSE in the region. Oh yes we love the challenge!

We plan to bring some pain in this one.

Simmer down now Simmer down now. I read through all of the post and I did not see one person from Riverside call you a"lackluster" team. Go to bed or you will be late for school.

Riverside will go for it on every down.

(926) If you don't like whats being said on here you might not want to come to the game. It may get ugly.

I don't think you will have a nuff words to discribe it.

I think what he means is 926 uses too many words to

describe what she is saying.

Don't make me get my dictionary out again. :P

I'm curious...How many of you prognosticators have actually seen both Lewis County and Riverside play in person? We have people here from Camden making predictions, and Camden hasn't played either team yet. The Riverside posters have pretty much surrendered to the belief that they are going to get eviscerated by Camden in a couple of weeks, and the Lewis County game is their only hope of ever seeing the second round of the playoffs.

What are you guys basing your predictions on?

History? Neither Camden nor Riverside have turned the Tennessee high school football world on its ear with their dazzling record of consistantly winning in the post season.

Geograpical superiority? Over the past 10 years, Middle and East Tennesse have dominated West Tennessee in the Clinic Bowl in 1A through 5A.

Vegas? I know that the bookmakers are VERY interested in these games.

Just let the players play and let the coaches coach...then all of us Monday-morning-quarterbacks can come here after the games and disect the gameplans, make excuses, and blame the refs 'till our hearts' content.

Ya know I'm going to predict that the sky will turn purple on Thursday...I've seen the sky so yep I'm going with purple. I also predict that Osama Bin Laden will turn himself in after they find out he's been hiding out in Lewis co bagging groceries for the last 12 months...now don't get me wrong, I've never SEEN Osama I'm just going with my gut on this one :P Ya Know what?...Its great to be an American where I can get on coacht as much as I want, predict anything I want and agree or disagree with anyone I want to. <waves the flag>

As far as us "westerners" feeling superior...nope not us. Camden, Riverside, and Adamsville have been in a good region playing second, third, or fourth fiddle for a long time now... we are now trying to build a winning tradition just like our new region mates are doing. Sounds like to me some people that have been used to being "king of the hill" are worried about being knocked off by us peasants from the west. Geez take a laxative it sounds like you need one.

BTW I'm putting fifty on Riverside...I hear the odds are going off at 5:2 with heavy betting

I never said you were a "lackluster" team. But I still don't think you're gonna beat Camden and Riverside.

Good enough. And tell us...which is your team, Riverside or Lewis County? Camden, you say? Well, read post #1 again. The main question pondered is "Why are people who haven't seen either team play, making predictions?" The people who have seen and preferrably played both teams have more insight than people who haven't, wouldn't you say?

And remind us again who it was bragging about the West Tn boys playing a little tougher brand of football. Is all of West Tn in Region 6 2A, now? I ask that, being as how this [/b]is a discussion about Region 6 2A, isn't it?

The last team in 6 2A to win the title was....drumroll please....HUNTINGDON!!!! December 5, 2003.

Walked right into that one.

Do your homework.

BRILLIANT! How can anyone respond to such a clever, well conceived, and stinging reply? Hats off, LFE...hats off! A small tear ran down my cheek when I read the part about being an American and being able to post on coacht. You, my friend are a poet...a poet and a Patriot.

Forgive me if this post isn't as lengthy as my other posts...I'm a little misty right now.

God Bless You LFE

God Bless America

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
