I can't say for sure, but I don't believe they come out until after the championship games. If that is wrong, someone please correct me.

Last year the nominees were announced the 2nd week of November. The winners were announced the week of the state championships.

I think Kevin Smithson from Temple should be considered for the award.

He had almost 3,000 yards passing (27 TD's) for the regular season.

What about Gaston Miller of Riverdale? Even though I am an AVID Warrior HATER, I still have to give props to the little man with the big time play. This kid is absolutely dangerous when he touches the ball. In my mind, he should win the 5A Mr. Football Award hands down. There is no one out there who can match this kid's speed or talent.

Release of the all region teams are left up to the coaches of the individual regions. Some agree to wait until all of the teams from a region have been eliminated or have gone to the finals before releasing the team, and some choose to release it earlier.

 

Most all state teams come out around the Blue Cross Bowl date.
