Being that Allison was most of thems coach for 1 or 2 years and everyone of them have had Darryl as an assistant coach or AAU coach so I'm smelling a lil bit of FIRE under the lady dawgs in this one.It's in Clay's house so i say lady dawgs by 10 -15!

Pickett County freshman Lindsay Wright wasn't her team's leading scorer, but she made the biggest basket of the night.

After Clay County (7-7) went up 40-39 on a Megan Copas free throw with 3.9 seconds remaining,

Wright snatched what seemed like a sure win away from the host Lady Bulldgos.

With time winding down, Wright hit-a game-winning, buzzer-beater from half court to give the Lady Bobcats the big district win.

Pickett County was led in scoring by Ashley Padgett with 14 points while Copas' 13 paced Clay County.

After Clay County (7-7) went up 40-39 on a Megan Copas free throw with 3.9 seconds remaining,

Wright snatched what seemed like a sure win away from the host Lady Bulldgos.

With time winding down, Wright hit-a game-winning, buzzer-beater from half court to give the Lady Bobcats the big district win.

It was a great game... fun to watch!!! The shot was very good but........ She stepped on the line (out-of-bounds) she knows it to but, crap happens. Better luck next time lady dawgs!

I thought she was awful close to the baseline but I was on the other end of the court so I couldn't tell. Nice shot anyway. Clay can only blame themselves for all the free throws they missed.

Great game is about all i can say really. As far as her stepping out, i couldnt tell you cause i was on the other side of the gym, all i know is that was one heck of a shot and a great game by both teams, the lady cats are starting to play alot better, and theyll need to come friday at home against the lady buffs, great job tonight ladies and heck of a shot Lindsey, foot out of bounds or not..

It was an amazing clutch shot from half court.......BUT

 

The "still shot" on the video doesn't lie, she was without a doubt out of bounds on the inbound pass. Problem was the ref had done headed up the floor 20ft from the baseline where he should have been stationed. All the other real referees that were in the stands agreed that it was a very bad blown call. The shot never should have even occured.......BUT

 

The Lady Dawgs should not have been in that situation.

They played a good enough game to win.....BUT

 

A group of girls that used to be so automatic from the FT line has become quite shaky when it counts.

 

For a Freshman to make a "net-stripping" shot from half court at the buzzer for the win is remarkable.

One Game....One result......They will meet again and next time Megan will be back!
