Since it is obvious that you disagree, I guess only time will tell.

It always does. Lets just make sure that we are both man enough to admit who was correct on this one, without the inmature babbling please.

I can accept that :thumb:

The rumor in the city of Lewisburg may be that WJ is staying. Before you folks get sold on that idea however just ask yourselves a few simple questions:

b.) Why would he take time out of his Thursday evening to meet with someone about something that he could have taken care of in less than three minutes over the telephone??????

Per my source he felt a responsibility to let MF know in person that he wasn't interested in the job.

BTW --He's still here

You know I think highly of you on here mc and I would never argue with you on this website. You do bring up an interesting point in saying Johnson met with Fitz out of respect towards the man. The only problem with your post is the fact that he met with Fitz last Thursday and as you say it was to show that "he wasn't interested in the job". That would have been fine had he just decided to leave it alone from there, HOWEVER the word I got was that Johnson met with Scott Brunette this past Monday (as in just two days ago) to discuss the job at PC. How could a guy drop out of the running for a position on Thursday of last week and then turn right around and have an interview for that same job just four days later????????? Again I have stated reasons to support my theory on this and outside of mctigersportsfan and voiceofrockets backing up their posts with actual ideas that they've heard I've still not seen anyone tell me why or why Johnson won't get the job outside of the fact that there are many on here that have a dislike for the man. I've never met the guy personally so it is not my place to judge his character as a human being. That is not a reason for or against my chossing him to become the next head football coach at Pearl-Cohn so please before anyone gets this thread closed by posting something off the wall state actual facts that you either know first hand or have read from a relaible source or heard from a reliable source.

Hey gator22, originally it was supposed to be this week from what they put in The Tennessean two weeks ago. Now I really don't have the slightest idea.

Call me crazy but I believe your name was mentioned in that last post voiceofrockets. Read the post more clearly next time before you start getting all defensive and make me out to be the bad guy here

Now without getting all bent out of shape and defensive just think and answer the questions I've presented. Why did Johnson meet with Fitz last Thursday to turn down the job and then turn right around this past Monday before the All-Region 5-3A Banquet took place and meet with Scott Brunette?????? Either he wants everyone but Santa Claus to know what he said privately to Fitz during a meeting last Thursday evening OR he just met with Fitz to discuss some issues in the PC job and went ahead and met with Brunette to officially put his name in the running for a job at he is supposedly not interested in taking. If it is so apparent that Johnson is not taking the job at PC then why would he pull out of the Antioch coaching search and make that official but not do the same as it relates towards the job at Pearl-Cohn??????? If he wants to share his secrets with Fitz and go meet with Brunette just to ensure him that he was out of the running for the job then why doesn't he just go ahead and make it official???? That way the story that was written by Jeff Lockridge in the newspaper could get straightened out once and for all.

What does William Johnson got to lose by being dishonest with a guy who makes films to try and promote the kids he's coached at Marshall Co.???????

Now ask yourself what does William Johnson have to lose by lying to the most prominent African American football coach to ever coach on the high school level in the state????? What does he have to lose by lying to every sports writer in the midstate????????? What does he have to lose by lying to the metro athletic board?????

I'm finished posting on this thread. I will let Sweep Left and offtackle take it from here folks :thumb:

1st of all, it is Johnson's job to make tapes and send them to colleges. He works for MC, wether he is trying to go to PC or not. If he does not help kis kids get to college, then he should not be coaching. He can still pursue the PC job, while helping his own players. That happens everyday in TN high school football. Just because he is making tapes for MC kids do not mean he is not trying to land at PC. <_<

Isn't it a little late for tapes to be sent to schools since next week is national signing day?

I am a coach in Middle Tennessee and I wanted to say something to this post. As usual an idiot who doesnt' know anything about how the system works has to speek his mind. Most coaches bust their butts sending film and helping ALL the colleges see their players. ONLY the DI's sign in two weeks. All of the other smaller schools sometimes don't even start recruiting until the big ones are done. However, as most **** fans don't understand, IT IS AWSOME FOR A KID TO PLAY ANYWHERE, not just the DI's. I'm sure he is selling his kids to all schools and that is how it works.

    • A little confused.  What charter/prep schools made it to state in Baseball?
    • Fortuitously encountering Clint amidst the ambience of Goodyear this morning sparked an impromptu yet intellectually stimulating conversation, wherein we engaged in a rigorous assessment of prospective candidates for the esteemed role of head football coach. Our discourse, characterized by its spontaneity and depth, led to the formulation of astute observations and discerning judgments regarding the suitability of various individuals for this pivotal position. Allow me to elucidate the fruits of our collaborative contemplation: This commentary endeavors to offer a discerning articulation of my subjective viewpoint, emphasizing a conscientious commitment to maintaining impartiality and refraining from any semblance of derogation directed towards individuals.  Those who possess meritorious qualifications for the esteemed head coaching role, delineated without hierarchical precedence, include: Rennard Woodmore, an esteemed alumnus of the Yellow Jackets, presents a magnificent pedigree, having held prominent positions in head coaching capacities across various regions. His pivotal role as a coordinator for teams contending for state championships further enhances his stature in the realm of football leadership. Kyle Gregory, erstwhile adorned in the resplendent gold insignia, though lacking direct head coaching experience, brings to the fore his invaluable insights garnered as a coordinator for esteemed teams, showcasing an acute understanding of the requisites for triumph whilst attired in the esteemed purple and gold regalia. Steven Jackson, whose contributions transcended mere clipboard duties under the tutelage of Kevin Creasy, emerges as an exceptional candidate for Trousdale County. His prior tenure and triumphs as an assistant coach underscore his suitability for the role. The sole drawback lies in his lack of affiliation with Trousdale County as an alumnus. Brandon Eden's extensive tenure within the chronicles of Trousdale County football, spanning a significant portion of its State Championships, coupled with his successful stints as a coordinator across diverse locales, underscores his candidacy despite a dearth of direct head coaching experience at the high school level. Davy Cothron, while beset by a modest playing career, has emerged as a luminary in offensive strategy, drawing parallels to the transformative appointment of Barker in 2015, thereby warranting consideration for his proven acumen in this realm. Joshua Hackett, notwithstanding his non-alumnus status, has left an indelible imprint across Middle Tennessee, distinguished by his adept curation of formidable defensive units as a coordinator at Watertown, albeit without direct head coaching experience. Kevin Creasy, the epitome of coaching prowess, merits an offer irrespective of his current inclinations, his unparalleled capacity to secure victories transcending geographical and institutional bounds, potentially extending to a role as Director of Schools should it align with his aspirations. Conversely, individuals who have not demonstrably earned the mantle of head coaching, enumerated without sequential precedence, encompass: Brad Waggoner David Barker Paul Pitts Jeremy Pruitt Clint Satterfield Robbie Atwood Wesley Satterfield Ben Johnson BJ West Whom do you all deem most fitting to assume the mantle of the next coach, and what rationale informs your choice? Conversely, whom do you perceive as ill-suited for the role, and what underpins your reasoning for their exclusion?
    • He's a Clinton fan.  But I wouldn't admit that either.
    • Their any schedule out their for team camp?
    • This sums it all up to perfection.
