HUNTSVILLE WINS!!!!!!

That was an great game. Those top 6 players stepped up tonight and showed that they can hang and BEAT the best. So maybe everyone who thought Oneida would win hands down can give credit were it is due.

That #22 came in and got it all going and the rest came with him. If #3 hadn't been in foul trouble and had to set Huntsville may have won by a bigger margin, but I'm sure they will take that 1pt V!!

Congrats to those Huntsville people and we will see you in STATE!!

Huntsville came to play and Oneida didn't. OMS had players more worried about making all tournament than winning the game. I know HMS "won when it counted" but Oneida beat HMS by 20 and 15 in the regular season and Huntsville don't have a kid that would play more that 3 or 4 minutes on Oneida's team.

I think this is the best thing that could happen to Oneida. They needed to get beat so they would know what it was like. We will see what happens, because I am pretty sure OMS will make it to Pigeon Forge.

One last thing, and this is to the kids. When you loose don't lay on the floor because that is embarassing to you and your whole team and if you cared that much you should have done something about it during the game.

....yeah really...huntsville has the best team in area 2 because they can shoot from the wing, and has power down low with number 5,3,30,12,20..and that is what makes them the best...and my prediction next time they play oneida(if they do)...they will beat them by atleast 15 because they are upset cause they got beat.....

Just a question have you people in Huntsville ever won anything before? I mean celebrate your victory but lay off of the attitude. You were better that night. That doesn't make you the better team. Break it down for ya....Oneida beat you by 24 and 9 pts. in the regular season. You beat them by 1 point in the tournament. And I've got a little advice for you. Start getting ready for Caton's Chapel cause youre gonna see some teams up there that'll give both of ya some trouble. Time to refocus and get back to business.

yea right look at Huntsville's team they have some quality players.I guess your saying that some kids that couldnt even play at oneida just beat u all then. i aint saying Oneida doesnt have good players cause they have alot of talent on the team but huntsville does to.And yes they did beat huntsville in the season but what do they really have to show for it(yea i know they got the 2 wins but when HMS beat oneida in the district they got the championship.Their just kids just let them celebrate.Best of luck to both teams in the future.

New Hot Topic. Will the Indians recover from the championship meltdown tonight against Midway? I'm sure the Green Wave thinks they can win one at the Tepee, but I'd think the boys have had their fill of humble pie and are looking for redemption. The fact that Huntsville knocked them off, in my opinion, makes them a very tough team to beat the rest of the way. They certainly have enough fire power to even things out against all their future opponents. Plus, they should be sufficiently motivated by now! Great win Huntsville, enjoy it. Hope to see you at Catons Chapel, if we make it?!?! I would think we will:

Oneida 47

Midway 39

I agree with you kazam. Oneida did need to lose one. I think it will only give them a better chance and winning a Catons. It would have been very hard to have won them all.

Good luck tonight!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
