katMANdo
Who are your choices for Coach of the Year at this point in the season?
Greenfieldfan
Willie Trevathan - Greenfield Look at the turnaround the Jackets have made in his three years. Its fun to watch girls basketball again in Greenfield. The girls are having fun and playing the best ball they have played all year. kwright
The replies are most likely going to be based on where you are from, but here are mine. Please excuse the spelling as I am not sure of it on any of these picks. A: Phil Willard ----- Summertown AA: David Junkins ---- Harpeth AAA: Steve Willey ---- Smyrna All have done a great job to this point. HOOPS TO YA!!!!!!!!!! kw
rebel_deof55
AA- Eddie Suiter ( Obion County Central )
13AA Guru
If this is for a state coach of the year: AAA Smyrna coach (Willie, I believe), they have come out of anonymity. AA Mem Hillcrest coach, not many people know about him. He has an excellent club this year, and will make some noise at tournament time for one of the region 7 teams. Also, Farris Lowery at Jackson Northside has done a tremendous job this year. A Coach Trevathan at Greenfield has done wonders in a short time. Maybe Patterson at Madison Magnet. For 13AA: I don't believe the above coach from Obion Central should be. Even though Milan has stumbled as of late, they have really gotten on the map in girls' basketball. My vote would go to the Milan coach. Just my opinions: good luck to all of 13AA in the upcoming tournament.
Postplayer
Aftering watching Livingston soundly whip Upperman, I would have to say the coach at Livingston should have a vote for the Coach of the Year. Unless, we have to vote for a man. Lets get women coaching women in Tennessee. Some of the men coaching in this district couldn't keep their jobs if they were not tenured. The Zone
Fariss Lowery of North Side!!! Has taken a team that lost 4 of 5 starters from last year to a 20-1 record and a ranking of 4th in the state.

Just a note here to say that Livingston beat Upperman in overtime by 3, and Upperman had an open shot that rimmed in and out to go to double overtime, so I would not say that they "soundly whipped" them. I do think Livingston has a good coach, though, but let's not forget they lost to York.
Not-so HeavyD
Coach Volbert has done a really good job for Milan. It wouldn't suprise me at all for him to be coach of the year in 13AA.......
NSIndian
Coach Farris Lowery's record speaks for itself. No matter the level of talent, he seems to ALWAYS manage a winning season. Losing 4 starters from last year, the level of Brooks and Penn, is tremendous to be able to achieve what he has. My vote is for Coach Lowery.
