Tim Johnson is out of GCHS.He made it offical today with the team. And if thats bad for GCHS i also got information that Sam Edgmon(#8) probably the best player on the team of 2006 is moving to Battle Ground Acadamy

i also heard that Tim Johnson is going to BGA too

I also heard that alot of players were going to quit because they felt like Coach J just gave up on them and they dont believe they could win without him and it would go right back to the recent Giles County teams. This is probably real good news for other teams in 5-3A but a big blow for the Bobcats.

(sorry other GCHS fans if some of this is not true but if you know more on this please post them!!!)

Giles County players . . . . rally around your assistant coaches and your new coach. Seniors-to-be . . . . be leaders - - strong get stronger - - fast get faster! This is what teamwork is all about. Any players that quit on you now, would not have lasted long in playoff game! Seniors-to-be, middle Tennessee folks have been hearing about your class for three years . . now is your time to lead. Best of luck to you!

I am a MP fan myself Jungleboy, and I have family in Giles County and like to see them do well except when they play us. What Tim Johnson did to that program and kids is sick. He obviously is not in this profession for the kids. He didnt like what happened to him in Franklin and so he used Giles Co as an out until something better came along. Hey Tim, I read the Tennssean this morning and you do not love those kids or you wouldnt have led them on and then ripped their hearts out. Just call a spade a spade and I would personally have a little more respect for ya. It should have went something more like this "Well BGA offered a whole lot more money and I would rather coach where I can recriut talent like the QB here in Giles Co. I'm thinking about just myself here and nobody else. The kids in Giles Co. can get over it. Show me the money." There I think that is a little better. I know this is a little strong and this post might get blocked or earased, but what he did to those kids down there is just terrible and he opened himself up for this critisism.

Tim Johnson made a decision that was best for both he and his family. I for one certainly hope that Sam Edgmon does not follow Johnson to BGA b/c he is an outstanding football player. If Giles loses him then they have lost their leading rusher to go along with their star quarterback (Myles) and receiver/kick returner (Garrett).

All of you MP fans get ready because I hear that Walt Smith could be the guy who takes over at Giles Co.

Just one queston: Would you change jobs if you could double your salary and give your children a FREE prep school education?

Its not about the money thing here with me. He used Giles Co. I understand about the money and education thing, but he made a commitment to those kids when he took over last year and now he just spits on it and runs. Like I said he just needs to tell the truth and quit with this I love those kids and I wish them the best crap. Like I said he is in this professiopn for the wrong reasons. As far as Coach Smith going to Giles Co, he has to do to do what he has to do. He took over a 0-10 program and turned it around. He has been in MP for 3 years and I hope he is here 30, but if he leaves he leaves. He didnt come here with all these promises that TJ did in GC. I don't know why he would want to go GC now TJ will recriut all the good talent down there to BGA. I see this getting really ugly and there is only one person to point the finger at "TIM JOHNSON"

And shortened his commute by almost 2 hours daily. Beyond the salary bump ... that's a lot of petrol and a lot of $$$ ... and 10 hours a week he can't get back ... or 400+ hours a year ... or 16+ days a year lost in transit.

Does anyone not think that Giles Co admins might have known that he wouldn't be there long? I believe they knew his time was there was going to be limited.

I bet that the GC admins were counting on alittle longer than 10 months!

What we should be asking is who is actually doing the hiring for GCHS? Seems to me like as rural as we are, we should suspect that a coach would not stay very long if he has to make that drive. That should be part of the requirement on the front end, the head coach must live in the county at least, if not in Pulaski!

Please, make sure we hire a coach that will stay with us. One that doesnt sell us a bill of goods and uses us for a steppig stone. One that will become a native to Giles county. WHATEVER it takes for our school to compete on a playoff level year in and year out. If we can compete for titles in basketball, why not football. Our adminstration might need some revamping, or at least some enlightning!!

i feel the same way about COACH J as you guys do now, when i heard he just used giles county as a pit stop

all i have to say is BGA if you dont go 10-0 or 9-1 next season youll be looking for a new head coach again.Ive lost a ton of respect for Coach Johnson and talkin to some of the players they felt that coach j just gave up on them because 2 of the 3 best players left and they think he did it for the money(which he really did)

And its kind of funny he's the Terrell Owens of High School football

    • Marion just jumped ER as the favorites in the East. Two big time transfers for y’all kinfolks. Bullseye has been set now. I said it the last two years it is time and both times y’all let me down. Can’t say you’re short on talent this year or that you’re young. Time to put up or shut up. Surely y’all can get over the hump this year. I’m just keeping it real
    • Should have won by 30 last year if we played discipline at the very least. May have got 2 dogs up front but remember we have the best DL in the state on our team. Also added a 6’6” 320lb O lineman.
    • Marion County boys just got two DOGS. Y’all East Robertson folks better buckle your chin straps this year. They gonna have something for Groves up front this year. I’m just keeping it real
    • A little confused.  What charter/prep schools made it to state in Baseball?
    • Fortuitously encountering Clint amidst the ambience of Goodyear this morning sparked an impromptu yet intellectually stimulating conversation, wherein we engaged in a rigorous assessment of prospective candidates for the esteemed role of head football coach. Our discourse, characterized by its spontaneity and depth, led to the formulation of astute observations and discerning judgments regarding the suitability of various individuals for this pivotal position. Allow me to elucidate the fruits of our collaborative contemplation: This commentary endeavors to offer a discerning articulation of my subjective viewpoint, emphasizing a conscientious commitment to maintaining impartiality and refraining from any semblance of derogation directed towards individuals.  Those who possess meritorious qualifications for the esteemed head coaching role, delineated without hierarchical precedence, include: Rennard Woodmore, an esteemed alumnus of the Yellow Jackets, presents a magnificent pedigree, having held prominent positions in head coaching capacities across various regions. His pivotal role as a coordinator for teams contending for state championships further enhances his stature in the realm of football leadership. Kyle Gregory, erstwhile adorned in the resplendent gold insignia, though lacking direct head coaching experience, brings to the fore his invaluable insights garnered as a coordinator for esteemed teams, showcasing an acute understanding of the requisites for triumph whilst attired in the esteemed purple and gold regalia. Steven Jackson, whose contributions transcended mere clipboard duties under the tutelage of Kevin Creasy, emerges as an exceptional candidate for Trousdale County. His prior tenure and triumphs as an assistant coach underscore his suitability for the role. The sole drawback lies in his lack of affiliation with Trousdale County as an alumnus. Brandon Eden's extensive tenure within the chronicles of Trousdale County football, spanning a significant portion of its State Championships, coupled with his successful stints as a coordinator across diverse locales, underscores his candidacy despite a dearth of direct head coaching experience at the high school level. Davy Cothron, while beset by a modest playing career, has emerged as a luminary in offensive strategy, drawing parallels to the transformative appointment of Barker in 2015, thereby warranting consideration for his proven acumen in this realm. Joshua Hackett, notwithstanding his non-alumnus status, has left an indelible imprint across Middle Tennessee, distinguished by his adept curation of formidable defensive units as a coordinator at Watertown, albeit without direct head coaching experience. Kevin Creasy, the epitome of coaching prowess, merits an offer irrespective of his current inclinations, his unparalleled capacity to secure victories transcending geographical and institutional bounds, potentially extending to a role as Director of Schools should it align with his aspirations. Conversely, individuals who have not demonstrably earned the mantle of head coaching, enumerated without sequential precedence, encompass: Brad Waggoner David Barker Paul Pitts Jeremy Pruitt Clint Satterfield Robbie Atwood Wesley Satterfield Ben Johnson BJ West Whom do you all deem most fitting to assume the mantle of the next coach, and what rationale informs your choice? Conversely, whom do you perceive as ill-suited for the role, and what underpins your reasoning for their exclusion?
