well ive watched the henegar kid since he played little league hes smooth and he dont get rattled i think this is a big set back for jasper middle especially when they come up to dunlap- does anyone know hes plans for the future is it going to basketball only-

obviously he could have helped this team. however the world is not coming to an end either. teams shouldn't think just because he is not playing that it will be an easy win because there are many good players on this team. unfortunately for henegar he may be listening to too many outside sources. he is a good basketball player however his future probably would have been in baseball.

Cody is a fine athlete and will do well in what ever he chooses. Good luck to him in what ever he chooses to do in the future. :thumb:

It would have been good to see Clarksville Acadamey play Rossview or Richview or Northeast.

I would like to see an end of season middle school tournament where maybe the 1st and 2nd place team from each conference came together and played in a weekend tournament. If not the 1st and 2nd then maybe at least the 1st place team.

I know that the Montgomery County team that won would be interested. Who else. When does most of the seasons end for Middle School ball. Montgomery County ends the last weekend in April.

We could try to schedule something for the May 12, 13, and 14.

Rockwood has a Middle School program.. not sure how good or how bad they are.. is middle school baseball all its cracked up to be??? is the competition any good..? ive heard that the level of competition isnt really good and that your better off just playing travel ball in the summer to prepare your kid for high school..

Is it the only Roane County team that has Middle School baseball?

I would like to start a middle school team in the school that I teach in. Does anyone have any advice for me to help me getting going. Stuff like how to get backing from Central Office. I think one thing that hurts the efforts is the county I teach in is pretty rural and the summer program is not the best and so interst is not that high. This is also the reason the high schools team can hardly win a game. But the kids say they would love it. We have Basketball, Football, Soccer, Golf, and Cross Country and they may think that is enough. But Soccer and Golf is getting low, the kids say they don't really want to mess with those and would much rather have baseball. So any ideas you guys have would be great. :D

By the way I don't teach in Harriman.

Thanks

A field. A schedule. A fundraiser.

I don't see why Central Office would care if you you're not asking them for money. I don't see the Cheatham County middle schools getting a ton of money. The baseball fees pretty much take care of uniforms, equipment and umpires. There might be some insurance that the school system chips in.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
